An authentic cooking experience. - My husband and I were collected from our accommodation and taken to the cooking class which was near Central Market. We had to make our own way back once we had finished. The market tour was very interesting and our teacher, Som Ann, was very informative. We then had lots of fun cooking, and later eating, the delicious food we’d made. Som Ann provided excellent tuition when teaching the both of us during the lesson. We cooked 3 meals each and liked the fact that we could each choose different recipes from the options available. The ingredients had already been sourced and were very fresh. Everything was extremely well organised and clean. Some of the food preparation had already been done (chicken chopped etc.) but there was still plenty for us to do. It was nice to then be able to savour the dishes we’d made in the restaurant, leisurely. Drinks were available during both the class and afterwards for an additional cost. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon, Som Ann and Khmer Gourmet Cooking Class, and for making it a memorable experience of our time in Siem Reap.

Great experience with delicious food - Very well organised cooking class situated in a small restaurant in the heart of Siam Reap. Food was delicious and you need to be hungry. Our teacher Som Ann (Sam) was very helpful and had a great sense of humour. Not a negative as I can’t remember if this was made clear when I booked but you are collected from your hotel but not returned. Transport is so cheap it really doesn’t matter.

Fantastic experience - The cooking course allowed us to discover the different spices and aromatics used in Khmer cooking. We very much enjoyed the tour to the market before we started cooking to familiarize ourselves with the ingredients. The little bonus of the restaurant, we were able to enjoy a good Belgian beer thanks to the boss, Philippe, who has a very diverse menu both in drink and Belgian dishes. Thank you for this fabulous time we spent with the whole team.

Kind people, efficient process, and lots of fun. - Kind, efficient, and fun. And it was delicious! The whole experience from grocery to eating was well planned. All 3 of us chose our own dishes to make. Super friendly, super fun. I had low expectations, and it ended up being on of the highlights of our Cambodia trip.

A great way to spend an evening! - I had such a wonderful time with this cooking lesson! Our teacher was terrific and I met some wonderful people, not to mention that the food was DELICIOUS! I recommend taking a cooking class. It is a lovely way to enjoy a culture and to learn about how local foods are made. I really enjoyed going to the market to learn about the spices and produce that would be going into my food.

Five Star cooking class - From the hotel pickup, with an excellent English speaking driver, to the Master Chef lesson, I'd recommend this activity. It starts with a visit to the local village market with an explaination of all the items for sale. The work-station at the lesson was clean and well stocked. The instructor is a professionally trained Master Chef. The lesson included a hands on instruction. The locally inspired cocktails was a delightful addition to a delicious self-prepared meal. I'd highly recommend this activity.

First class cooking experience - What an enjoyable afternoon we spent cooking our favourite dishes! The set up was very organised and professional, and the teacher was excellent. After a really interesting visit to the old food market, we were each given our own ingredients and taken through each dish one by one. It was great to be shown the traditional methods. After we enjoyed eating our 3 course lunch and we took some extras home with us. I would highly recommend this activity.

Narong is a wonderful teacher! - Narong is a wonderful teacher! We started by choosing the starter, main and dessert to make from a selection of options (vegetarian options also available), then went for a walk around the local market to see the local produce, followed by returning to the upstairs kitchen for the class. Narong was lovely to chat with, and knowledgeable about local produce and foods. We made spring rolls from scratch, Amok curry, and a mango sticky rice dessert. Then had the time to eat it afterwards and to take away any leftovers. Great value for money! You leave with a full stomach, certificate and access to all the recipes online.

Join with confidence! Let's make local food - It was a perfect dinner for our last night in Siem Reap! I participated alone, but cooking makes us friends! After listening to an explanation of the Old Market, we started cooking. The Khmer menu was also authentic, and we made green mango salad, coconut curry, and banana and passion fruit flambé. We asked them to take out the salad we couldn't finish. Pick-up is free.
