Kigali – Nyungwe
Nyungwe Forest National Park - Start your day with an early breakfast before driving to Nyungwe Forest. En route, visit Nyanza King’s Palace, the National Museum of Butare, and the Murambi Genocide Memorial. Nyanza was the ancient headquarters of the Rwandan Kingdom before European arrival, featuring a modern palace built by King Mutara in 1934, adorned with traditional mats and utensils. The Butare Museum is renowned as the best ethnographical museum in East Africa and hosts the national ballet, Intore dancers. Enjoy lunch in Butare before continuing to the Murambi Genocide Memorial. Overnight at the hotel.
Hiking, trekking, Colobus trails of Nyungwe
Nyungwe Forest National Park - After breakfast, enter Nyungwe Forest to track the Nyungwe Colobus monkey. Guided by experts in botany, ornithology, and interspecies relationships, a walk in the forest is an educational experience. Return to your guest house for lunch. Overnight at the hotel.
Nyungwe – Kibuye
Lake Kivu - After breakfast, enter Nyungwe Forest at 6:00 AM to track chimpanzees. Return to the guest house for lunch, then drive to Kibuye. Overnight at the hotel.
Kibuye-Gisenyi-Ruhengeri–Kinigi
Iby’iwacu Cultural Village - Covering a distance of 213 km in approximately 6 hours, start your day with breakfast before driving to Gisenyi and finally to Kinigi. The route from Kibuye to Gisenyi offers stunning views of the tea-growing regions of Gisovu and Kayove, with brief stops for photography. After a four-hour drive, arrive in Gisenyi for lunch and a short city tour. Continue with a two-hour drive to Ruhengeri and finally to Kinigi, the base for gorilla tracking. Overnight at the hotel.

Iby’iwacu Cultural Village - Begin with an early breakfast, then drive to Kinigi Park headquarters for group and guide allocation and briefing. Proceed to the trailheads to start hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone. Tracking gorillas may take 2-4 hours, with one hour spent observing them. Descend to your hotel for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure or touring the area, including visits to Lakes Burera and Ruhondo. Overnight at the hotel.
Bisoke hiking Ruhengeri – Kigali
Volcanoes National Park - After breakfast, embark on a trek in the mountains for another memorable experience with the volcano. Return to the base hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, drive to the airport for your flight home.
