Game drive and Boat safari at Akagera National Park
Akagera National Park - Transfer to Akagera National Park, where you will receive a briefing upon arrival. Enjoy a short game drive in search of the Big Five (lions, rhinos, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes), as well as various antelope species and rare birds. After lunch at the lodge, embark on a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, water birds, and buffaloes. Overnight stay.
Early Morning game drive & transfer back to Kigali
Akagera National Park - After an early breakfast at the lodge, embark on a full-day game drive from the south to the north, seeking wildlife not seen on the previous drive. Enjoy a packed lunch and soft drinks during the drive, then transfer back to Kigali for dinner and an overnight stay.
Transfer to Nyungwe Forest with museum visits & canopy walkway
Nyungwe Forest National Park - In the early morning, depart for Nyungwe. Along the way, engage in a brief historical exploration of Nyanza, visiting the King’s Palace, a traditional Rwandan home, and the National Museum to learn about Rwanda’s kingdoms and colonial architecture. Continue to Nyungwe Forest for a walk on a raised artificial bridge, providing an aerial view of the dense Nyungwe Canopy.
Chimpanzee tracking & transfer to Lake Kivu
Lake Kivu - Begin the day with an early breakfast at 5:30 am before driving to the forest edge to start the chimpanzee trek. In the afternoon, transfer to Kibuye, known as one of Rwanda’s most picturesque lake ports, nestled among rolling hills and providing breathtaking views of the lake, islands, and surrounding countryside. This hidden treasure is characterized by lush green hills and a tranquil atmosphere. Check in at your lodge and have the evening at leisure.
Lake Kivu - boat safari & transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Volcanoes National Park - Start the day with breakfast by the shores of Lake Kivu, followed by a boat ride to Napoleon and Peace Islands.
