Team Habari - Every group climbs the same mountain and stays at the same campsites, so it might seem like a good idea to just choose the cheapest option. Or, you might feel like a tour group with a slick website and a big advertising budget might give you some extra confidence or luxury. Climbing Kilimanjaro is certainly an unforgettable experience with any tour group, but Habari is the best team to get you to the summit. Here’s why Habari is different: 1) They’re local and contribute to the community. There’s someone to answer emails and phone calls in English, so no worries there. Check out the Habari Foundation to see how they give back. 2) The guides and porters are exceptional. Unlike how some other groups operate Habari, has a group of porters who train and work together with Habari. This isn’t just a group of dudes that they picked up in the parking lot. The porters have a camaraderie and cheerfulness that makes a hard hike much more enjoyable. By the end of the trip we truly felt like family. 3) Habari is the right size. Our group of hikers (seven new friends) and the Habari team was small enough to fit comfortably in some crowded campsites. One group in their custom-printed yellow tents seemed way too big for my taste. 4) The Habari guides are exceptionally experienced. Emmanuel was always correct with the best advice and we had the best summit sunrise due to his perfect timing. Our group all made it to the summit. 5) Habari knows the tricks. They always managed to secure the best camp site in the middle of the crowded mayhem.

Awe inspiring experience - We chose Habari thru referral for our 8 day Lemosho climb. We wanted to choose a local company and glad that we did. From the time we started the planning, Habari was clear, transparent and available for their communication. The equipment (tents, toilets, mattress, sleeping bag, etc) was in great condition. As for the support staff for our climb ... wow ... not enough words can describe how grateful we are for them. Our guides, Mody & Michael, and cook, Ebrahim, plus the 15 other porters were all exceptional and incredibly receptive to our needs. Not only are they professional and honest, but so sympathetic to our needs. From taking our gators off after a long hike, providing us with hot water bottles at the end of the day, cleaning our shoes, helping us with refilling water, etc, etc. Every need was filled with warmth and a smile. Stan and his team at Habari indeed have created a company that is truly special. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Stellar experience with Habari adventures - We were a group of 4 (2 male and 2 female all 50ish years olds). We successfully summitted thanks to the wonderful guides and porters of Habari Adventures. It was the trip of a lifetime for me. We chose Habari after a friend who summited with them recommended it to us last year. We also preferred Habari because it is Tanzanian owned, and we wanted to go local. We started planning in January and talking to Habari during the comparison and selection process was friction free and easy with prompt responses. Habari answered all our questions during the preparation process and helped us with choosing the right route and equipment to buy. All pre climb and post climb accommodations were arranged, including pick up and drop off at the airport. Once we started the climb, the guides Michael and Mody and the porters were like family. They kept us up to date, real and optimistic throughout. Every day of the climb was extremely well organized with proper briefings, equipment checks and health checks. We opted for a private toilet tent (you should too). We also opted for a 3-person tent for 2 people so that we would have some extra wiggle room. The tents were of great quality and so was the toilet tent and service. The chef and food were awesome. It is amazing what the chef could come up with given the scarce space and resources. We sang and danced and celebrated small quirks. The ratio of crew to climber was very high as well and our every need was taken care of. The guides planned our pace and times based on their judgment and it turned out to be perfect. They ensured we wouldn't burn out and have a lot of fuel left for summit night and also avoid altitude sickness. They also helped in mental preparation. I can honestly say that without them, summitting would have terribly difficult. I bonded very well with the entire crew, learnt a lot of Swahili on the way and became familiar with their way of life and living. I had tears in my eyes when we all met in the Habari office to say our goodbyes. If you are thinking about climbing Kili, don't hesitate, just do it and you cannot go wrong with Habari.

A dream come true - My Kilimanjaro climb with Habari Adventure was nothing short of perfect from start to finish. Communication prior/post booking was excellent. I had a lot of questions before and after booking but Stan and his office team were always quick to come back with a helpful response. On arrival, a driver was waiting to take me to my hotel. The hotel booked was the Bru Bru Lodge which was wonderful! It's a small property in a quiet/upmarket part of Moshi. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool area was a great place to chill prior to your climb and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. If you do want to head into town for shopping, a supermarket is just a short walk from the hotel for any last minute essentials/snacks. A day before the climb, our guides Emmanual and Benson came to the hotel for a pre-climb briefing and gear check. They ensured we had everything we needed to climb safely and comfortably, as well as answer any questions we might have about the days ahead. We ended up having a small group of just 5 guests, but a crew of 19! The crew are what make this trip possible. Everyone was friendly and filled with energy from start to finish. The porters are superhuman! You would leave them packing up camp each day for them to overtake you on the trail and have the next camp set up before you arrive. It was amazing! As for the camp, we had everything we needed. The tents were good quality, sleeping bags were warm and sleeping mats supplied were very comfortable. The mess tent was big enough for us to stand up in and the dining chairs were comfortable with back supports. It was a great place to unwind at the end of each day with a hot drink and some snacks. The toilet tent (which is a must have, make sure you book it) was kept squeaky clean and we were supplied with hot water for washing every morning and evening (except Barafu camp due to the extremely long walk for the porters to collect water). The food each day was delicious (thank you Jimmy and Pio). There is zero chance of you going hungry with these guys. We were woken up each morning and given a hot cup of tea or coffee (which at the colder camps was very welcome indeed). Breakfast was normally porridge, pancakes, eggs, sausages, beans, toast etc. Lunch and dinner would normally start with a soup, followed by a hearty main (one day we even had pizza!!) and then finish up with fresh fruits. Staying fueled is so important to ensure you have the energy for summit night. The delicious food made this very easy to do. Drinking water is also provided daily and tasted excellent. On some days you are given snacks to enjoy on the trail (normally biscuits, cake, juice and nuts). They even carried hot ginger tea for us on summit night! The service provided was 5 star! My 8 days with Habari Adventure is one I will remember forever. I’ll never forget the positivity and energy of the team, the strength and encouragement of our guides, the incredible scenery and the unbeatable feeling of standing on the roof of Africa. Thank you to all of the Habari team for making this dream of mine come true. I really hope I can trek with you all again, one day.

Lifetime experience spent with habari on the northern circuit route - Habari adventures ensured that we had an amazing experience. We took the northern circuit route, 8 days with Evance and Leonard as guides and 10 other team members, porters, and an incredible chef. From the start, the experience went above my expectations, we were able to rent gear from the shop (much of which I did not come to Africa with). The gear was satisfactory, there were a good number of options, but I would recommend bringing your own gear and renting minimal. Stan (the owner) welcomed us to the office with open arms and calmed our nerves by answering our questions and concerns. The food on the mountain was excellent, warm lunch and dinner each day made it feel as if we were at sea level. Wide array of food options and meals. We did bring our own snacks from home for the trail / summit day (I would recommend this if you are picky. It also allowed us to have some quick energy throughout the day & gave us a sense of comfort and home on the hard days.) The tents and other gear were mainly REI brand (an American company) which has amazing gear. The guides ensured our safety throughout the trek through consistent medical checks both morning and night, this calmed my nerves as I was most nervous about altitude sickness. We took diamox 125mg both morning and night (this helped significantly in acclimatizing!!) I would definitely recommend talking with your doctor before hand and inquiring about diamox. As a young female who is relatively healthy and fit, I did not train or prepare through any type of high altitude training. That being said, I was extremely nervous for how my body would react to the altitude, but to my surprise, I had absolutely NO issues and felt fine throughout the entire trek. We summited on the night of day 6/ morning of day 7 and couldn’t have been happier. Truly was an experience of a lifetime and habari made it so special for us! I wish you the best of luck on embarking on this journey and if you have any questions let me know!

The great Experience! - My group & I had the best experience with Habari adventure while hiking Kilimanjaro. They were extremely knowledgeable and attentive to all of our needs throughout the expedition. The team of 24 staff, worked flawlessly together to make it the most enjoyable time, despite the rainy weather. I enjoyed waking up to a hot cup of tea every morning in my tent, as well as seeing the waiter with a table set up along the trail everyday for tea & snacks. Once we summited, they celebrated us like it was the first time they’d seen someone complete this trek. I will forever recommend Habari adventure to any person wishing to hike Mount Kilimanjaro. From start to finish, they made this experience so easy for us.

Best experience of my life! - We did the 8 day Lemosho Route up Kilimanjaro. Prior to being in Tanzania, we had great communication from the Habari office. They were able to answer all the questions I had (which was many). It was great having the transport from the airport to our hotel and not having to organise that. We then had a pre meeting with our head guide, Mudy, the day before departure and he checked our gear - which was re assuring. The hike was then actually quite relaxing as our crew organised EVERYTHING. We ate such amazing food from Yugen, and our waiter Eliasa was always so attentive. Each evening, Mudy discussed the agenda and do a medical check for the next day and was very experienced. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!!

8 days Lemosho route - We were a group of 9 people who chose to do 8 days Lemosho route with Habari Adventure after being recommended with our friend who did the same program in 2022. Our trip went very smoothly we had an absolutely amazing experience. Our guides were very professional with a lot of knowledge of the mountain and the Tanzania culture especially a chagga tribe located on the slope of Mt.Kilimanjaro. They were always fun and in good mood which made our trip enjoyable. Our chef Remy was very kind with 5 star cooking experience the food was delicious and he prepared many vegetarian food for me as well. We had the best group of porters they did everything they could to make our experience the best it could be. We really enjoyed the singing by the porters and guides on every camp from we started and our last day at Habari Adventure office. I highly recommend Kilimanjaro as the best place to visit and thankful to Habari Adventure for organizing such amazing trek for us. We all made it to the top of Africa.

Habari - The Rock! - Kilimanjaro was on my bucket list and it came true with the help of Habari adventure. We did the 8-day Lemosho route and the guides were extremely experienced and made sure that we were in the right shape to continue the hike. Communication with Habari was perfect and everything went as planned. All staff members and guides were always so friendly and helpful, especially when our luggage was lost by the airline. Caroline called the airport for us and helped ensure it made it to the right hotel. The climbing team was excellent in all aspects from food, porters, logistics and reassurances while climbing. The food was great, the tents were clean and the dining tent was always ready for us upon arrival to each camp. In terms of variety of food each day we had different entrees and sides that kept our appetites going throughout the hike something that is very rare on this hike as most lose their appetite by the fourth day. At the bottom of the mountain we all celebrated together with a bottle of champagne. They truly know how to make the experience unforgettable and looking at all the other expeditions we encountered, we definitely had the best. I had a great time with them and I can recommend this company to everybody. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
