Amazing, thanks to the whole Kili brothers team - We trusted Kilimanjaro Brothers for our Kilimanjaro climb. A great experience thanks to a very professional team who took great care of us. Eli and Paul were very good guides, with excellent knowledge of the mountains and very attentive to our desires and needs. A big thank you to the porters and the cook for his excellent meals (Chakula kitamu). We lacked nothing during the ascent. We then hit the road for 5 days of Safari with Julian our guide, a savannah expert who allowed us to see the Big 5 in just 3 days. Kilimanjaro Brothers are very flexible regarding planning, we were able to carry out day tours that were not planned in the initial planning, but in Tanzania everything is doable and communication is very simple. Hakuna Matata! Little favorite for the visit to the village of Mto wa Mbu. Esau, our guide, shared with us the treasures of his village with passion and authenticity. I highly recommend this local agency. Asante!

Kilimanjaro Climb with Trekking Hero - We had the pleasure of climbing Kilimanjaro on the Lemosho Route with our great guides Side (pronounced see Dee) and Martin from Trekking Hero. They did a masterful job in ensuring we climbed in a way to optimize acclimatization. The Trekking Hero team also did a great job in setting up camps, providing excellent meals and wonderful support. The one thing I’d recommend is to get the private toilet tents since the public tourist toilets are just holes in the cement floor, are typically filthy and doors to stalls don’t properly close.

Kilimanjaro Lemosho route with Kili Brothers - Short version: We had a good experience and recommend them. We got a good price and are very happy with the service and efficiency of George who helped us arrange it.  Long version: I had contacted George a few weeks before we arrived to tanzania and we haggled a bit about the price and came to a good agreement. When we finally booked everything worked out beautifully. We got picked up from the airport, went to their office to pick up the gear we needed. Met our main guide Eli and they drove us to the hotel where we got a good and long briefing about the 7 day lemosho route we were taking. After the briefing they checked out our clothes and all our gear to make sure we had what we needed for the mountain. Then the day after we started. It was only me and my fiance on the trip. We had 2 guides, Eli and Sanka, one chef William, one server/porter Ima and 8 porters.  The food was good and plentiful! For dinner soup (william really knows his soupd, delicious), maincourse and often fruit for dessert. We got tea and gingertea everyday. We could choose hot chocolate in the morning if we wanted to.  We had hot water for washing every day morning and when we arrived to camp except for in basecamp.  The tent was very roomy. Unfortunately they had chosen a dry season tent for us and the rainseason was just starting so the outer tent leaked and sometimes even the inner tent which was not so good. The tent wasn't put up optimally one of the days where it leaked in. I told the guides who made sure that the tent was put up better the following days. Also the waterproof bags that we had our sleepingbags and sleeping mats in was not really waterproof. One of the evenings they were moist. Not enought to make it unusable but enough for me to get annoyed.  At two times the tents was placed so that the rain risked to flow under the tent, but Ima and one of the porters Pasoa went out in the cold rain digging with their hands to make a little canal for the water to go to instead.  The guides were helpful and listened to our opinions about tempo and so forth. During summit night our summitporter turned back after just 1 hour and didn't come back. Very odd. But our guides took the emergency equipment instead and Sanka even took my daybag when it was getting to tough for me to carry it. And yes, it was tough walking 6 hours in the dark, up up up!  How Eli did it I do not know but we arrived to Uhuru peak 3 minutes before sunrise! Perfect timing. We were the 2nd group to the top, so the first group was too early to the sunrise on the peak and the ones after us came too late. When we arrived down again, the porters treated us like king & queen. Put out our chairs, dusted us off and even took of my gaiters and shoes! Service! Almost felt embarrassed! After the 7 days trek we all gathered and had a beer/soda together. It was very nice. Ofcours the tipping part is always very awkward for us scandinavians since it's not really a part of our culture but George made it to a less awkward experience.  George promised to make sure that the right tent for the season is picked and that the sleepingbags and sleepingmats really are in waterproof bags in the future and he took the feedback very professionally!  Conclusion! A great experience with Kilimanjaro brothers!

Life changing adventure with Kili Brothers! - JAMBO! If you're looking for the best guide company for your Kili climb or safari, you've found them. My husband and I did the 7 day Lemosho trek, 4 day safari, Maasai tour and coffee/waterfall tour with Kilimanjaro Brothers. So, we'll start at the beginning! Before we booked we read a ton of reviews and emailed a couple different guide companies, George was the most responsive and laid out the best itinerary. We trusted him from the start as he started as a porter himself and built his own local business. We were picked up from the airport by Kibo, with the warmest smile and most welcoming attitude. The next morning when we went to pay the balance of our trip, our cards didn't work, we called the bank and got it sorted and when I apologized for the delay he said "Hakuna Matata!" with the biggest smile! Kili Climb: Before we left our hotel for the climb, our guides Karimu and Joseph came to our room to check our gear. They double checked to make sure we were prepared for all elements. We rented 1 sleeping bag that was high quality and warm. We felt very safe with Karimu and Joseph, they were highly knowledgeable, fun, and attentive to us. Edward was our chef, his food was excellent. August was our waiter and he took great care of us. We loved when he brought coffee to our tent in the morning and he would boil water to put in our Nalgene bottles at night to keep us extra warm in our sleeping bags. We summited a day early because our group was feeling healthy and strong. One of the porters, Stanley, joined us on the summit day and was an awesome addition. We had the best experience on the mountain with Kilimanjaro Brothers! Safari: We did 4 days of Safari in Tanagarie, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. Sharif was our guide and we couldn't have asked for a better one! He was so nice and knowledgeable about all the animals. He also has an amazing eye for finding animals we would have never seen. We saw Africa's Big 5 animals in 1 day! Tortillas camp was our favorite place to stay. If you want to book with a company where you feel like family then book with Kili Brothers. George met us before and after the hike and joined us for a dinner. We watched Karimu and Joseph pick up garbage on the mountain to throw away in trash cans. Sharif would collect uneaten lunch items and package them together to hand out to hungry children on our drives out of the parks. Kibo joined us on the Massai and coffee tour and made us feel like we were just hanging out with our friends rather than being on a "tour". Not only did they all do their jobs exceptionally well but they are good caring people! A few things to consider: 1. Most places like and will accept American Dollars, but bring a few Tanzanian Shilling for the smaller vendors and places you may stop along the way. And bring smaller bills for dividing up tips. 2. Pack extra hiking gear that's taking up closet space for your porters! Coats, fleece, socks, hats, rain gear, gloves, boots, literally anything! You will understand when you see them, they are incredible men and need your donations. 3. Tip the porters generously! Your tip is their income and they more than earn it. 4. Drink at least 3 liters of water a day on the climb, and bring Nuun flavor tablets for no other reason than you'll want to drink more if it tastes good. 5. Bring Diamox! 1 tablet with breakfast and 1 tablet with lunch (125mg). 6. Don't take your malaria medication on the mountain, it's not necessary and it messes with your stomach. 7. Eat when you're not hungry, you need the energy and the food is awesome. 8. Sunscreen is your friend, even if you tan well, the sun is brutal even on a overcast day. 9. Go with the flow and appreciate everything!

We came, We saw, We conquered. Kilimanjaro Feb 2020 - When I was looking to book my trek to climb mount Kilimanjaro, I was unsure about all the companies who tell you they are the best to take you up a mountain in a foreign country. I researched many on the www and was left with a few choices. I went with Kilimanjaro brothers and I was not dissappointed. Their owner George is a local man who has risen from porter to owning a company that makes your stay in Tanzania go as easy as saying Pole Pole, His Staff are all good at what they do and very professional. Medicine...Diamox 125g tablets 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon. My doctor prescribed me 250g tablets, I had to split my tablets. Malaria tablets, no need to take them on the mountain,, bring paracetomol tablets just incase you feel a little unwell. Sunblock a must, even if you tan well, the equatorial sun really does burn , Sun hat a must, Water... 3 litres a day while walking, camelbak good and if not enough carry water in hard shelled bottles, NO SOFT PLASTIC BOTTLES ALLOWED. Also bring tablets to flavour water as you will be glad as boiled water does not really taste great. They boil it every night so you have drinking water the following day. Guides...Karrimor & Joseph. friendly, polite, knowledgeable and professional. Kitchen staff...Serves up the most wonderful food. I dont know how but you will be glad they do. Porters...Lions of men, Polite, friendly and so necessary to a successful summit. Money, Dollars ( small notes 1, 5, 10, 20) are widely accepted but also have someTanzanian money as going into little shops I found is easier. You sort out all tips and payment of guides, porters, staff when you return so no need to take all your money up the mountain. but have a few local notes or dollars just incase you see something that you fancy buying en route to and from hotel to start of trek. Your kit will be examined before you start your trek and if you need stuff you can hire it. I hope this helps you decide on making up your mind as to which company you choose to go with but I would recommend Kilimanjaro Brothers. as for the view???? well go climb it and look for yourself.

Amazing Adventure - It is hard to desribe our feelings in couple sentences. It was a life journey. There were four of us and we decided on private tour with Kilimanjaro Brothers. It was a good choice. Just couple hours after our pickup from airport, we had meeting on which we were informed about all details about our trip. Food was incredible, staff professional and helpful. From day 1 we had healthchecks and briefings about next days. We want to thank our great guides who made our dreams real, Joseph and Abel - hope to see you again. Poland Team

Kili summit, Lemosho Route 7-days - Kilimanjaro Brothers are an excellent company and they put together and excellent experience for us. Our guide (Joseph), local host (MD) and porters were all wonderful. They gave us a fantastic experience and a successful summit. They were patient and accommodated all our needs including diet, pace and equipment. Meals were great and we had a team just for our group of 4. Joseph quickly figured out what we needed and made sure we made it to the top and back down with a smile on his face the entire time. A truly enjoyable experience. Ask for the tall tents! We did and it was much easier to manage than the short ones. Bring your cash for the tips at the end. Buy your shirts at Kajiji village after the climb. Don't buy your souvenirs from the street hawkers, go to the curio shops in town instead. And book with Kili Brothers!

Phenomenal in every way - Kilimanjaro brothers was our agent for a hike up Mt Kilimanjaro followed by 4 day safari thru the national parks of Tanzania. They met and in most cases exceeded our expectations in every way! In preparing for the hike they made sure to stay in communication asking all pertinent information including health as Kili is not easy. On site their transfers were perfect, their guides Abel and Joseph were highly skilled while being welcoming and friendly. The team of porters never missed a beat over the 7 day trip. Following the hike we did a 4 day safari with them and it too was exceptional. There was one small hiccup at one of the safari hotel/camp properties and they fixed it within an hour of my sending an email. Our guide Sherif, was very experienced and that resulted in his ability to spot animals and answer all our questions. He is another example of this superb company. I typically find the best in companies but this is the most glowing review I have ever posted, and they deserve it. Thanks Kilimanjaro Brothers!

Memories to last a lifetime! - We could not be happier that we decided to book our trip to Tanzania with Kilimanjaro Brothers. From the first enquiry emails sent to George and his team, we were constantly impressed with the help and information we were given to book our trip. I can be very indecisive and every time I would think of something new or change my mind on something, they were happy to give me suggestions on possible itineraries. For reference we are couple (both 30) from Australia and we ended up booking a 7 day climb on the lemosho route and a 5 day safari, both of which were amazing mostly due to the great guides and porters we got to spend these couple of weeks with. As soon as we landed (after a long transit from Aus!) we were greeted with Kili Brothers staff who took us to our hotel. On a side note, all of the accommodation spots we stayed for the trip were really great. We then headed off on our 7 day hike. We had a team of 12 taking us up the mountain and we were so happy we got to share this memorable trip with them. Our guides Marwa and Sam looked after us so well, my boyfriend was feeling the altitude by the time we got close to the top, but we always felt safe with these guys. Our chef Edu made the most delicious meals and Chaz, Mtaki, Kirenge and all our other porters were always around to help, nothing was too big an ask. The climb is not an easy feat but we had so much fun doing the trip with our team! We really did feel that they were cheering us on to get to the top and were just as happy as we were when we made it. If you are like me, you might question the need for so many people to help you on this hike but believe me they are worth their weight in gold! The same can be said for our safari guide, Julius. Even feeling sick on the first day of our safari didn't stop him from giving us an amazing experience! He is so knowledgeable and really took the time to make sure we were having a good time. There is a considerable amount of driving that is done on safari and we felt really safe with Julius, the vehicles are also surprisingly comfy! If you are considering booking with Kilimanjaro Brothers, I would absolutely tell you to stop considering and go for it. A huge thank you to Kilimanjaro Brothers and particularly to our guides and porters - you really made our trip of a lifetime one to remember forever! Asante sana :)

The most amazing food - At the end of September, 2019 my friend and I did the 7 day Lemosho trek with Kilimanjaro Brothers. It was just the two of us in our group, and we had 9 porters, one cook, and two guides. My friend is vegetarian so we asked for vegetarian meals for our trek and I must say the food was amazing. Hot cucumber soup, zucchini soup, stew, lentils and beans, and popcorn. We felt safe during the entire trek. The tipping situation at the end was a bit awkward, and I'm not sure if having the tip baked into the full price would have been better or what alternative method of tipping would have been smoother.
