Additional Information

The Kilimanjaro 7 days Machame route is particularly recommended for achieving high altitude acclimatization. Although the ascent can be completed in a minimum of six days (five nights) on the mountain, it is typically undertaken over seven days (six nights) to afford a superior altitude acclimatization timetable. When utilizing the seven day itinerary, the success rate improves significantly. The route is approximately 62 km/ 37 miles from start to finish and is intended for individuals in good physical condition with some prior hiking experience. However, many beginners often choose this route and manage to complete it successfully.

Thank you George and his Kilimanjaro Brothers for our Safari & Kilimanjaro Climb - A group of friends who had previously climbed Kilimanjaro with George’s company recommended to us, we weren’t disappointed one bit. Right from the outset a year in advance when planning our 2 day safari to the Tarangire and Ngorongoro national parks and the 7 day Machame Kilimanjaro route, George was absolutely superb. Always available to answer our queries night and day. No pressure whatsoever and when George face timed a few times, I knew this is the right local company to venture with. There is no middle man to haggle with and pay more than what we need to. Our once in a lifetime journey and expedition took effect from 1st September 2022 whereby we were warmly greeted by George and his wonderful team at Kilimanjaro airport. We opted for the 2day 1night safari at the beginning of our trip and absolutely thrilled with this decision because we enjoyed the safari so much and even saw the elusive black rhino whilst at the Ngorongoro Crater, truly spectacular. We also saw a famil6 of lions, very closeup up of a family of elephants grazing, wilder beast, gazelles, antelopes, warthogs, a python up in a tree, hippos, zebras and many more. We had lunch right in the heart of the crater - an u forgettable experience organised only by George and his team. The safari was followed by the 7day Machame route to Mount Kilimanjaro, what an experience. Truly tiring but if you’re a regular hiker and fit/active then you should be okay to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Our three guides, Eli, Justin and Mgosi had all the skills, experience and patience and ensured they went at a very pole pole rate meaning slow slow in Swahili. The entire crew from the guides to the chef and porters were amazing. Our breakfast, lunch and dinner were of quality and taste and prepared freshly at each campsite. A special mention to Barakah who served us our meals and also replenished our water each evening and morning, thank you. All six of us successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro with the added bonus of the full moon summit which we pre planned with George a year in advance. Overall, we had the most fantastic time of our lives which was only possible due to George and his wonderful team. The certificate-presentation ceremony was superb and all the crew were present with us. If you are planning a safari or Mount Kilimanjaro then George and his Kilimanjaro Brothers company is the one. Thank you so much George and crew for our once in a lifetime experience.

Amazing crew and great time from start to finish! - Had an amazing experience from beginning to end. We did the 7 day Machame route hike in Kilimanjaro Mo and his team were waiting for me as we left Kilimanjaro airport, so there was no waiting around. The drive to the hotel was about 20 mins and they were entertaining the informative. The hotel we stayed at was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and WiFi worked well enough. The next day our climbing team went over everything we should expect during our adventure. I can’t say enough how great these guys were! They were super friendly, very accommodating (with the dietary and physical restrictions we had) the entire time. But the time we were done these guys felt like family. Sly, the chef, made amazing food every morning and everyone night. Justin, Lawrence, and Nas were great guides. Very informative and entertaining. They always made sure we were safe, and never rushed us. It’s nice knowing that this is a local company so all the money that is made goes straight to these locals who work very hard but also provide and exceptional experience! I plan on going this company again when I come back to Tanzania for their safari tour! Highly recommended!! See more pics of the hike on my IG @Paulyv408 Thank you again, Kilimanjaro Bros for an unforgettable and life changing experience!

Kili Trek December 2019 - Just finished 7 day Machame trek with Kilimanjaro brothers and what an amazing experience it was! Everyday we tents were up on time, clean, dry. There was a huge amount of good food breakfast, lunch and dinner. They really run like a well oiled machine. I struggled badly with altitude on summit day and one of the guides Richard helped me out, carrying my day pack for about 500m to the summit and down again. Thanks again to the whole team, I highly recomend.

When things go unexpectedly wrong... they were my heroes - 3 days into the climb I was started feeling sick. I had a bacterial infection which I caught somewhere on the mountain. Let me start by saying it wasn’t from from food because we all ate from the same pot and I was the only one who was sick. Probably from a “pit stop”. Anyhow our guide Able was noticing by decline and kept an eye on me until it was obvious on day 5 that it wasn’t altitude discomfort and I would have to go back down. Within minutes I was packed up and leaving my husband and friends to decent with our other guide Reagan. You would think I would be worried leaving my family, but I was with people who treated me like family and couldn’t have been in better hands. They stayed with me through the whole hospital visit and made sure I had everything I needed when I was back at the hotel. They were available at any time of day until my husband returned. After some antibiotics. I was up and running for the next amazing part of my trip which was the 4 day safari. Sheriff was an incredible guide who new all about the wildlife. I may not have made it to the top of Kilimanjaro this time, but with the amazing service and hospitality, I can’t wait to return when my son is old enough and try it again.

Climbed Kili for 7 days, Machame route + Safari - We did a 7 days Machame climb, Safari in Serengeti and a quick trip to Zanzibar. First of all, the communication with Kilimanjaro Brothers was amazing. They responded very fast to all of our demands before the trip and even helped us prepare the right gear beforehand. George and Benjamin made sure everything is arranged before we arrive and also helped us resolve things on the spot. We had a flight change at the last minute - they managed to adjust the program adding a quick stop in Zanzibar. The Kilimanjaro climb was organized very well. The whole team, led by our chief guide Karrimor, did everything they possibly could to make us feel comfortable and succeed with the climb. You could see that Karrimor, Regan, and Teacher ( our guides ) were very experienced and all 6 of us managed to climb to the peak without any significant complications. The food was amazing! After each climb, we had our tent waiting for us with nice food and a great camping spot. Also, all of the guys were super nice and fun, which made our expedition a pleasure. The Safari was organized very well too. Even though we've changed our plans at the last minute, we still managed to visit both Ngoro crater and Serengeti. Davies was an amazing guide, thanks to him we saw all of the big 5 animals and many others. We had a really great experience there too. The Zanzibar part of the trip is where Kilimanjaro Brothers felt short. To be fair, we really added this in the last moment, so I guess they tried their best to make it happen. ( For example, they arranged us to fly from Serengeti to Zanzibar and saved us a day of traveling which was great ). However, their local partner Adam was a complete disaster. The hotel he chose for us was under construction when we arrived, it was dirty everywhere, the water was brown... in the end, we had to choose and pay for another hotel. Kili Bros tried their best to assist, but still - it was disappointing. In conclusion, Kilimanjaro Brothers were amazing in their core activity - facilitating the expedition. If you ask them to organize something else, keep in mind they work with external partners, so you should double-check hotels and activities.

Kili Brothers are awesome! - Kilimanjaro Brothers were professional, punctual, and went out of their way to help us summit. Food was very tasty, healthy with lots of vegetables, and plentiful. They were very safety conscious and monitored our vitals daily. Both our guides- Nasri and Alex - were totally awesome. I want to mention that my bank kept on preventing me from sending money to Africa, so I had to pay $1000 at a time. So if it happens to you, no worries.

Arrived as strangers left as friends - From the moment our feet landed on the Tanzanian soil and we were greeted by Kelvin at the airport we were treated like the most important clients Kilimanjaro Brothers have ever met. They were so kind and accommodating. As we made our way to the hotel without even asking Kelvin began to give us an idea of our surroundings(it was dark)it made the ride so enjoyable. We met our guide Abel who gave us a very thorough run down of our climb ahead. We had so many questions and he was so patient, answering each one as if he had not heard it one million times. When the gang met us the morning of our climb there was an instant trust. Our guides Abel and assistant guide took care of everything. They were amazing. Guiding: They answered all of our questions. They walked at the perfect pace. They were so encouraging when our energy was low. They made sure that we were well each step of the way. Care and Consideration: One of our friends became quite ill. Not only did they carry her pack for most of the way but when she just couldn't go on any more they helped her hand in hand to bring her back down the mountain from base camp, took care of her and then to the hospital. Not only did they bring her there, they stayed with her there. The care they showed her was something that will touch our hearts forever. The three of us made our way onward. Meals: I did not expect such amazing meals. From soups to omelettes to pancakes to traditional African food our bellies and hearts were full! They even made popcorn!! Porters: The porters have the hardest job of anyone. They smiled, never complained and even sang songs. They don't have the best thermarest to sleep on so if you have room in your bag to lend or even give them one, bring it. It won't go to waste and their poor backs. Summit day was amazing!!! And really hard as they wake you up at 11pm to start your climb. But with the support of Abel and two other porters we were able to make it successfully and see a view that is so beautiful your heart will stop. I cannot thanks these people enough for such a wonderful adventure! Request Abel as your guide. He is a wealth of knowledge. GO LOCAL!!! read the background of this company and you'll be inspired. TIP!! Don't be stingy. Follow the tips guide and add to it. This team works their butt off to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime and your dream to make it to the top comes true.
