Join me, John, for an engaging and informative walking tour of the city that is closest to my heart, Kilkenny. This two-hour stroll will take you past the major landmarks, as well as a few lesser-known gems that don’t make it into the travel books. Along the way, you will be treated to engaging tales about the personalities that make Kilkenny such an exciting place to visit. As we keep our group sizes small, you’ll be able to ask me any questions you have, and I’ll be glad to share insights drawn from my lifetime in this city.

I’m a native of Kilkenny city, with years of research and storytelling under my belt in English, French, and German. As a historian and resident, the stories from my childhood and the wealth of knowledge I’ve gained over time add depth to our exploration.

An essential guide to Kilkenny - We had a wonderful time with John, he is so friendly and knowledgeable. I live quite close to Kilkenny and have visited many times but this walk opened my eyes to so many things I didn’t know about this beautiful city. My 16 year old niece and I absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend. And to make the experience so much sweeter, it is so reasonable priced. A must for anyone visiting Kilkenny. We loved it.

Excellent tour of Kilkenny - Our family very much enjoyed John’s tour highlighting the history and culture of Kilkenny! We learned so many interesting stories about the city. He was kind and gracious to also show our daughter murals dedicated to her favorite book, Wolfwalkers. We highly recommend his tour if you’re looking to learn more about beautiful Kilkenny.

Fab way to get to know Kilkenny - Lovely walk , good snippets of local info and off the beaten track. Had to leave early but will definitely join this walking tour again. The Butler gallery was new to me and very interesting current and historical info.

Great tour! Very enjoyable! - Our tour guide, John, was full of information and had a great sense of humor. We saw so much of the city, learned about hurling, saw beautiful cathedrals, inside as well, saw the oldest pub, and, of course, the castle. Enjoyed it very much. Definitely worth the cost!

Best tour - This was a great tour. John was very knowledgeable and was flexible enough to answer all my questions! The sites we visited and the history John shared made this our best stop of our trip to Ireland. If you are lucky enough to have John as a guide you are quite a fortunate visitor. Please take this tour. You will not be disappointed.
