All groups are guided, and all levels of experience catered for. All participants must be able to mount a horse with relative ease and not have any medical conditions which may be adversely affected with the riding of a horse. There is a maximum weight limit of 20 stone/280lbs/127kgs. Riders will be asked for their weight, height and riding experience levels: i.e: beginner, intermediate (10 years plus regular riding) or experienced (15 years plus regular riding).

Embark on a journey on the horse-riding trail that enters the Knockreer Estate located to the north of Lough Lein, and experience the beauty of Killarney National Park. Our riding stables are operational throughout the year from 9 am daily. Services include hacking, trekking, and trail rides that wander through Killarney National Park for one, two, or three hours. The park became a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1981 and forms part of a highly protected Special Area of Conservation. Your route will guide you near Lough Lein, which is the largest of Killarney’s three lakes, exposing you to breathtaking scenes of nature’s beauty encompassing towering mountain ranges, undulating landscapes, and a distinct ecosystem harboring a variety of fauna and flora. All groups are led by competent guides, catering to all skill levels. We can provide riding hats and boots to visitors who need them.
- *Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start time to prepare for the ride. The ride will leave promptly and not wait for late comers. No refund for late comers.
- *Please note children need to be 8 years and older to take a ride. Children under 8 years will not be allowed to ride
