Great time! - As someone who is an experienced rider, I really enjoyed this 2 hour trail ride through the Killarney National Park. The staff were kind, treated the horses well, and the sights were lovely. Most of the ride was walking with a few points of trotting. Upon arrival, you sign in to the left of the barn (main office) and are instructed to try on helmets and boots to find some that fit (to the right of where you walked in/straight out of the check-in area). The staff match you with a horse that should be well-matched to your experience (or lack thereof) level. In my group it seemed they follow the concept of the most experienced riders go in the back of the group and the least experienced closest to the front, which is typical for trail rides with mixed experience. So don't fear of being left behind if you've barely or never ridden! :)

First time rider, unique experience - It was scary at first, but after riding for a bit, it felt more natural. We were a group of 6 riders total, and there were 3 expert guides accompanying us, so I felt more reassured and safe for the journey. It drizzled and rained a little for a good portion of our ride, so be sure to wear waterproof and flexible clothes in case of weather changes (it got a bit muddy on the trail with sporadic puddles). Overall, a great experience, would definitely try it again

Breathtaking views while on a great horseback ride. - Great experience and a fantastic way to see the beauty of Killarney National Forest while doing one of my favorite things—riding a horse. My friend was a beginner and very hesitant to go, but the staff made her feel comfortable, and she ended up enjoying it more than she thought possible. The horses were in great shape and well cared for. I always try to book a riding excursion on my trips, and this was one of the best. Highly recommend!
