Suggest you go on this tour for good, relaxing time. - This tour was really fun, made more so by the boat capt. (sorry I cannot remember his name) and the jaunting car tour driver, Vish. Both had a sense of humor, were knowledgeable, and made the tour. Vish in particular; enjoyed exchanging jokes with him. If you go, make sure you ask about the nicknames of other drivers. Besides the humor, they will also share info. about the areas you are going thru, history, etc. If you get in the Killarney area I would encourage you to take this tour. Worth the money (and it wasn't much).

A "MUST DO" when you visit Ireland - This is a MUST DO when you visit Ireland! You will be in awe at the beauty of the Killarney National Park. Our Jaunting coach's name was Calvin and his horse was Maggie. Maggie was his grandfather's horse. He was funny, personable and knew lots of information about Ireland and the specific area. LOVED this incredible experience! Buíochas! (Thank you in Gaelic)

Best in class #1 choice for Killarney Tour Horse Jaunting & Lake Cruise - Combination Killarney Jaunting Car Tour & Lake Cruise (by Tangney’s of Killarney). We booked the combo back to back jaunting (1 hour) and lake cruise (1 hour) tour for 36 Euros per person. JAUNTING: This is a ride in a traditional Killarney horse drawn carriage with bench seating for the guests in the back. We went with Tangney’s of Killarney - the oldest largest firm in Killarney for tours. Laura Tangney runs the company now of this 5th generation - 250 year old - Killarney business. They have 70 horses - as it is important to give them lots of rest days and pick horses only of great temperament. They have 12+ jaunting cars - as it is important to keep a good supply so all are in great condition. We learned most of the other operators in town are one horse operations so Tangney’s has so many business advantages. We got driver Laura Cotter (and gorgeous Gonzo the horse) who is to be commended as she was an expert driver and guide and just delightful - so bravo. The horse jaunting cart picked us up a the front door of the Killarney Park Hotel and we went on a stunning ride through the park to the boat dock in front of Ross Castle. A minute walk and we were at the boat for our lake cruise. LAKE CRUISE: left and returned to the boat dock directly in front of Ross Castle. Tour of lake Lough Lein on covered cabin (good for bad weather) The Lily of Killarney. ROSS CASTLE: as we were right there, we walked into the impressively done (free, no appointment) Exhibition Room of Ross Castle. The castle also does guided tours but those were sold out. The self directed Exhibition Room and walk around the grounds was a happy medium. RETURN: we had a ride arranged right back to the hotel from the parking lot at Ross Castle. Alternately it would have been a one hour walk back.

Fun - We were only able to the jaunting car because the lake was too rough but it was great. Our driver Michael was great fun and we loved our horse Gonzo.

Fun Tourist Attraction - The Jaunting Car ride through Killarney National Park is one that most tourists won't want to miss...the horse and car ride is bumpy and spacing is tight, but it's all part of the scene. Our driver, Eric, was full of information...personal...and a bit of a character...His horse was William...en route we saw both Simba and Red deer...and many shore birds, swans...the park itself was splendid. The ride is relatively short...about 45 minutes...and follows a narrow cart road through the park to the fifteenths century Ross Castle where we boarded open boats as the day was clear... Overall, we had an enjoyable ride. Enjoy!

Nothing special - It didn’t start out too well as they did not have us listed and by the time they found us on their registry, we were 15 minutes late with getting the horse carriage tour started and we had to be to the boat within 45 minutes of starting the carriage tour. So our horse ride got cut short Which was disappointing and there was no compensation. Our carriage driver, Cal was very entertaining we just wish we had a little more time that that we had paid for. The boat ride was nothing special. But it was a cloudy day. Save your money on this trip and use it to buy more Guinness.
