An enriching journey - Exceptional experience with fascinating insights into Jamaican history, art and music. Our tour included the Water Lane murals, National Heroes Park, Trench Town Culture Yard museum and Devon House. Guide Karen was a wealth of knowledge, explaining the significance and context of all the fascinating sights on our exploration of uptown and downtown Kingston. It was an enriching journey through this endlessly engaging, stimulating city.

What an amazingly informative few days - We were so lucky to choose Jamaica Cultural Tours to make the most of our time in Kingston. karen was exceptional in her helpful advice before we left the UK and was even more exceptional in person. Our first visit to Jamaica got off to a poor start when our flight from the UK was delayed by 6 hours, meaning we would arrive at Norman Manley Airport well after our scheduled meeting time. We needn't have worried. Our driver, arranged by Jamaica Cultural Tours, was there waiting to take us to the apartment. We arrived at 3am, and were scheduled to meet our driver for the city tour at 10am the same morning. At 10am on the dot, Karen, the owner of the company, met us at the apartment. The city tour started at Water Lane, in downtown Kingston, where Karen talked us through the various wall murals and their significance. She played us all the relevant types of music represented in the art. We then were taken to Heroes Park. Karen had an incredible knowledge of the heroes, and we learned so much about slavery and its origins. We had expressed an interest in going to the Culture Yard in Trench Town, so Karen had organised a tour for us. To see where Bob Marley was brought up and where he wrote some of his greatest reggae hits was a fabulous experience. We then went to Devon House for lunch and to sample some of their amazing ice cream. This was followed by a quick walk around Emancipation Park, where Karen continued to show her incredible knowledge of the city and the people. On Monday , we arranged another trip with Karen, this time up into the Blue Mountains to visit a coffee plantation and have lunch on the way back, another very informative trip. The following day, having completed our stay in Kingston, Karen drove us to our next location in Port Antonio. Karen is so much more than knowledgeable. She is lively intelligent and full of enthusiasm. She was also a very good, safe driver. We really enjoyed her company. She is a great conversationalist and we would have no hesitation in recommending Jamaica Cultural Tours if you are looking for a first-class experience during your time in and around Kingston.

Best Tour Guide in Kingston - My family and I visited Jamaica in June 2024. This was a very big trip for us as native Jamaicans -- basically returning home to the motherland after 3+ decades in the United States. It was more of a homecoming celebration than a vacation, and the team at JA Cultural Tours made it incredibly special. I wanted to learn all of the history I missed growing up in the US, so I booked two tours: 1) the Kingston Walking Tour and 2) the Blue Mountain Tour. On the Kingston Walking Tour, my family and I learned a "whole-heep" of Jamaican history. Courtney took us into the heart of downtown and helped us understand/remember the cultural components that make Jamaica Jamrock. Through music, language, art, and food, we got the full Kingston experience. A few days later, Courtney and the lovely guy who drove us up the mountain (I cannot remember his name at the moment -- forgive me!) gave us the Blue Mountain experience where we journeyed up to the mountain top to witness for ourselves the beauty that lives in the Blue Mountains and to also learn why Jamaica has some of the best coffee in the entire world. On this tour, we got the best views, the best food, the best coffee, and some of the best laughs on our entire trip. The Blue Mountain Tour was my absolute favorite and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting Jamaica, but especially for coffee lovers. Overall, the JA Cultural Tours team are not only professionals, but they create an experience that one can only find in Jamaica -- this is what makes them the best. Courtney is beyond amazing at what he does and how he tells the story of our country with immense pride. Big ups to the JA Cultural Tours team, we will come back soon to learn more from you guys.

No regrets! - I spent the majority of my trip to Jamaica in Negril, so when I came to Kingston for 2 days I had to make the most of it. I checked out tours that would give me just the right amount of experience on the weekend. Because a lot of places are closed on a Sunday, I lucked out in finding this option. The guide was exceptional and thoughtful. I felt comfortable and totally enjoyed chatting with her throughout our time together. There is walking, but not a lot to feel fatigued or anything of the sort, the lovely weather that day probably helped out. It was warm, but breezy! Trenchtown was eye opening and very informative, and the art district was the star of the day. Also, when at Devon house definitely try the curry goat patty!
