Setting Sail with Demiron

The Caribbean has always been my playground, and when I heard about the Pirates and Beach Tour with Detention Tours, I knew I had to experience it firsthand. Our journey began in Kingstown, where we boarded a comfortable minibus and headed towards Fort Charlotte. The drive was scenic, with the ocean on one side and the lush green mountains on the other. Next on our itinerary was the breathtaking Dark View Falls. The drive was a bit long, but the anticipation of seeing the waterfall kept our spirits high. As we approached, the sound of cascading water grew louder, and soon we were standing in front of the majestic falls. The cool mist was refreshing, and some of us couldn’t resist taking a dip in the natural pool. Demiron, ever the thoughtful guide, handed out snack boxes filled with local treats and a delightful rum punch. It was the perfect way to recharge before our next stop.

The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the visit to the Pirates of the Caribbean movie set in Wallilabou. As a fan of the franchise, I was thrilled to see the props and imagine the scenes that were filmed there. Demiron’s enthusiasm was contagious as he shared behind-the-scenes stories and encouraged us to take as many photos as we wanted. It was a surreal experience, standing in a place that had been part of such an iconic film.

Beach Bliss and Beyond

Our final destination was a pristine beach, where we had the option to relax and soak up the sun. Some of us chose to stay and enjoy the beach, while others, eager to catch a World Cup match, headed back to the ship. Demiron, ever accommodating, ensured everyone was taken care of, even offering to make two trips to accommodate our different plans.

As I sat on the beach, watching the waves crash against the shore, I couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s adventures. The tour had been a perfect blend of history, nature, and cinematic magic.
