Magical experience - After a wonderful experience a couple of days earlier with our guide Norris and TopDawg Taxi and Tours doing the Dark Falls Tour, I signed up for this tour with them. In addition to the iconic climb up to La Sofriere, the whole experience was super fun as we got to explore the Windward side of Vincy - the coast and beaches are wilder. Sensing our enthusiasm to explore fully this part of the island, Norris drove us through the center of the island on the way back to our hotels, and this gave us a pretty interesting flavor of some neighborhoods and villages up in the mountains and away from the beaches. La Soufriere hike was moderately challenging but well worth it. We had a special guide "Tall man" John who accompanied us on the hike, He was full of information and factoids about the history of the volcano, the various eruptions, the endemic flora/fauna of this region, the herbal medicines that come out of what grows here, and various other such interesting insights. This engaging conversation made the uphill climb up to the crater much easier. Whilst the views at the top were immersed in clouds and fog, the place itself is still magical.

La Soufriere hike and windward coast experience - My second tour with Topdawg tours. Beres, again, our outstanding guide. Wayne back at the office was fantastic in communicating and coordinating the trips. Both seem to genuinely want their clients to have fantastic experiences and connections with their beautiful island. I learnt a huge amount on the hike about the volcano and the local plants, we unfortunately had a cloudy/foggy day up top but it was still an awesome experience in a special place. I particularly enjoyed seeing the stunning windward coast and comparing it to our previous tour up the leeward coast. Thanks!

A fulfilling adventure! - La Soufriere hike was so much fun with TopDawg Taxi tours. They picked us up promptly at Sandals and Whatsapp'd weeks before to confirm. The team was absolutely lovely from the start to finish - sharing their personal stories, knowledge, and insights into "Vincy." The hike was somewhat challenging - with some loose rocks on the way up and down but the team was always there to help. As we were only there for a weekend, it was worth the day and we felt way more in-tune with the island's land, culture and spirit.

Journey to the other side - An experience I’ll remember for life. The staff and the guide for the hike was amazing. Our guide, (Tall Man) was friendly, encouraging, overall outstanding. I honestly wouldn’t make it to the top if it weren’t for him. Also the knowledge he has about the plants and wild life was fantastic very fascinating. This experience was everything and more than what I’d imagine

Volcano trek - Great service from start to finish. The guide was very experienced and managed to get us to the top of the volcano safely. There were lots of cool things to see on the way up. Wayne was a great driver and contacted us before the trip to arrange pick up location, great customer service throughout the day. The walk was quite challenging, our group started with 6 people but only 3 managed to make it to the top. It’s not super difficult but does require a bit of fitness as it gets steep at the top and the terrain is very rocky/ slippy underfoot due to ash from previous eruption. You will be well rewarded if you make it to the top and manage to see the spectacular views of the volcano. If it’s misty, make sure you wait 5 minutes as it does clear.

A view inside volcanic crater - Trip was very professional and well organized. Our way from Kingstown to the volcano slopes led along the south and then east (windward) coast of the island. We were accompanied by great views of the rocky cliffs and small bays of the Atlantic coast of St. Vincent. Our driver was very interesting about the places he passed. After an hour drive we arrived at the parking lot located on the eastern slope of the volcano, where we were handed over to the hands of an experienced guide (almost every day leads to the summit of the group), which at a steady pace, led our group to the edge of the summit crater. The hike led along a narrow path, mostly up the steps, through a tropical rain forest, where more and more ferns rose along with the height. Along the way we passed through two barren lava flow and reached the slopes of the volcano built in the loose pyroclastic. This part of the volcano bears traces of 1979 eruption. The 1979 eruption destroyed at least a third of the vegetation that covered the slopes of the volcano. However, the eruption gave opportunities to observe the re-colonization and succession of vegetation types unique to a small tropical volcanic island. After the last about 20 minutes of the steep climb we reached at the edge of the crater and we could look inside. An unforgettable view of the almost green lava dome filled much of the crater floor of Soufrière, worth a 2-hour climb. The weather was favorable, strong wind was blowing in the clouds and mist, so while climbing we were accompanied by a view of the east coast, and the crater overlooked the west Caribbean coast. After a short walk along the crater rim, efficient descent to the trail head and rest, we returned to Kingstown the same way. Along the way, we also managed to organize a short bath on the beach in Villa. We were 5 people traveling on a cruise and it was very easy to organize, especially with pickup and drop off. Highly recommended. Remember to bring good shoes because of the wet and slippery ground.

Volcano tour - This tour was one of the best in st Vincent. A must do. My 4yr old son enjoyed the hike to the volcano and we enjoyed the view of the island from the top. Mr Wayne and his team are very experienced and definitely made the trip an enjoyable one. Thank you.

Great hike even if foggy - Great hike with a good guide. 6km with ascent of 500m. Slippery under foot sometimes. The only disappointment was that the peak was enveloped in cloud so no views and could not see into the crater. Interesting plants (wild coffee) along the way.
