Pity about the weather. - Weather was forecast to be OK, but turned out to be heavy rain & cloudy from about half way up the mountain, so impacted on the trip & as a result was no sunrise view at all. But can’t control the weather. Our guide was great and a lovely guy could not have asked for better. Highly recommended even in the rain !

Excellent sunrise experience - The pick up is early indeed but it was worth it ! With the two hour drive to the base of the mountain, we started hiking around 3:45 and reached the top a little over an hour later. Our guide Wira was excellent, watching over us as we climbed through dirt and stones, steep and sloping. By any skilled hiker or climber, i would say this hike was moderately difficult. It hadn't rained the night before, so thankfully it was not muddy. We walked part of the way on the climbing path and then took the moto/mountain biking path for a gentler ascent. We passed a few groups on the way up. At the top there were many clumps of rudimentary benches and our guide provided a blanket to sit on, and then brought a breakfast of bananas, eggs , toast and coffee. Amazing that they port all this stuff up, cook it on site, and serve it professionally! He checked on us periodically as we waited for the sun to appear, and offered to take pictures as the clouds parted and we could see the sun rays over the horizon. We could leave anytime for the descent, and he guided us expertly. Wira made the whole experience safe, pleasant and fun. Advice for trekkers: bring an extra shirt and windbreaker for the summit -- it gets cold and could be drizzly damp. The hike up is hot and sweaty though! use mosquito repellent as there are mosquitoes on the lower part of the mountain, especially on the way down. There is a very clean western style toilet (!) at the base area. Clearly an expert planned this activity for tourists! I was so impressed with the whole operation. They have taken a mountain in the middle of bali and created a whole magical experience out of it, complete with food. This is how eco-tourism should work. Triple Thumbs up for everyone involved!

10/10 recommend! - My guide Wira was amazing! He was so knowledgeable and welcoming and made the experience the highlight of my trip. As a bonus he is also a great photographer so you will come away with the best sunrise pics. Aji the driver was also very friendly and drove us safely all the way from Seminyak to Gunung batur and back in horrible conditions.

Mt Batur sunrise hike - Wira Guide and Yoga were super sweet and made the experience excellent. The hike itself wasn't too bad and the view with the monkeys on top was beautiful. Very nice!

Amazing sunrise hike with Wira - Komang and Wira Negara Had the most amazing experience. It was informational and thrilling. We had big smiles on all the time. Komang picked us up at the right time with a big and comfortable car. Then we met our guide Wira and we started hiking. Wira is such an awesome person and spoke great english. We had fun and the time passed so quickly. He got us food and we saw an amazing sunrise. We decided to head back down before all the other people. Wira took us down another route and the views were amazing. Will remember this hike forever. I am not a review writer but this was really special and i recommend it.

A lovely hike - Lovely people and very informative walk. Wira Negara was very good at taking photographs aswell. A walk I would do again.

A beautiful hike to watch the sunset - Watching the sunrise was such a lovely experience. Yoga and Wira Negara took us up a beautiful trail and had the mountain to ourselves to watch the sunrise.

Mt batur hike - I highly recommend this hike even though it was foggy and we couldn’t see the sunrise. The view just before was still beautiful and clear. The path itself was a bit challenging, especially the descent. But my guide Wira was very helpful and offering lots of breaks in between. He also didn’t mind taking a bunch photos so I had great memories to look back to. Overall I enjoyed the experience.

Mount Batur sunrise private tour - Our driver Wira Guna, picked us up at our hotel as planned, he was so thoughtful and provided bottles of water. Our trip started at 2.20am and we were dropped back at 9.25am. Fabulous experience climbing Mt Batur, and the views were mesmerising. This is a definite must see in Bali.
