Must do!! - Great experience!! Highly recommend doing this! Made, our guide, was great! She was so nice and helpful. She carried our water for us and helped us take a bunch of cool pictures and videos. The hike was easy-moderate. Make sure you have proper shoes with good grip. Lots of loose sand/rocks. But Made knew where all the hard spots were and helped us up whenever we needed it.

Jero our driver confirmed... - Jero our driver confirmed pick up time via whatsapp the night before and was on time at 2.15am. The same driver will also take you home. Made was our trek guide and she was incredibly kind. I was struggling with the slipperyness and incline of the hike and she was holding my hand majority of the way, she has a heart of gold and patience of a saint! I had a break every 5 mins and still made it for sunrise, so dont worry you can make it! There were two opportunities where they offer you a motorbike ride up to the summit (i think it was AU$35) but i declined (somewhat regrettably hahaha, i was hobbling for the next 3 days! I should have taken the Jeep tour in hindsight lol). Once at the top, your guide will prepare you breakfast. Unfortunately the clouds/fog covered the view & sunrise but im so grateful Made took some great photos of us for memories (at that point i was so exhasuted and couldnt muster any energy to take photos). I now look back on those photos and think wow i did it! I couldnt have made it without Made, she was a legend. Dont let me deter you, i am sure you will be fine, my husband gave it a 3 out of 10 difficulty haha. I was particularly struggling because my legs were already sore from the previous day. Id like to think i would have been ok if it werent for that! Book it, you will be glad you did :)

Nyomen best Guidin - Our Guidin Nyoman was wonderful. She has taken a lot of consideration, for example by holding hands during difficult passages. The climb was really exhausting, even for a normal fit person. Many people need the road and yet decided to ride the jeep or motorcycle. We persevered and took 2 hours. The view is absolutely madness and was worth all the effort. We had shorts and sweaters on, at first you were cold, then you were overheated by the effort. But after 2min on the mountain you are right again. Better put on yoga pants. The thermal bath afterwards should definitely be taken along to relax the muscles.

A fun experience with a... - A fun experience with a fantastic guide. the climb is moderately difficult but our guide, Made Winarti, managed the varying fitness levels in the group well and found us a good position to watch the sunrise out of the wind. Be prepared the summit is quite cold while waiting for the sun

Mount Batur is Worth the Climb - Our guide for the hike, Madi, was wonderful. She made sure we were safe and allowed us to climb at our pace. While the hike was strenuous, she made us feel safe. The views were worth the climb, simply gorgeous when the clouds parted. The breakfast and warm coffee was appreciated. Our driver was on time and very helpful. We enjoyed the hot springs after our hike and our visit to the coffee plantation for some samples and relaxation.

Absolutely Wonderful - This was such an incredible experience! Though we had a foggy morning and weren’t able to catch the sunrise, the trek itself was once-in-a-lifetime experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Bali and is physically able to do the hike! Made was a great organizer/host, we thought we’d fall asleep on the early drive to the volcano but time flew as we chatted the whole way there. We really enjoyed getting to know him, learning about Bali, and receiving lots of helpful tips and tricks from him!

My Mt. Batur Trip - We had a truly amazing day! Made, the driver, was kind and helpful and so patient. We never felt stressed to hop in the car and go to the next place/activity. He just said that he was ready when we were, so you could really enjoy your time at the hike, hot springs and coffe- and tea plantation. Our guide at the hike, Komang, was also super helpful and always made sure that everyone was ok. Stunning views at the hike, relaxation at the hot springs and a new, fun taste experience at the plantation.

Great - Absolutely amazing time with Made and our guide for the trek, Arto! Although we were a bit unlucky with the weather once we got to the top (incredibly foggy day), we were fortunate enough to catch some stunning views on our sunlit trek back down! Made was super friendly and helpful, and our guide, Arto, was an absolute legend!
