Kalpana was such a warm,... - Kalpana was such a warm, kind and thoughtful host. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed this cooking class and would highly recommend. Kalpana adjusted the menu accordingly for dietary preferences and even swapped out a meal when we showed interest in another dish. The food itself was delicious and we are so grateful to be ablento share these flavours back home with our family! Both Kalpana and her daughter made us feel welcome and made sure we all had a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Fantastic cooking class 😄 - Our family of 6 did the half day cooking class with Kalpana. It was a treat to leave busy Kathmandu and travel by private car (included) to the countryside and spend the morning at Kalpana’s home. The cooking class was very well structured with cutting, chopping, mixing, cooking and rolling experiences for everyone. Kalpana’s kitchen was spacious and her family were so welcoming. We learnt a lot and then really enjoyed sitting at Kalpana’s table and eating our delicious meal all together. Kalpana and her husband were delightful - with generous smiles and laughter and excellent English to help us through. Our only regret was that we hadn’t also arranged to stay the night at their lovely attached hotel (Green Eco Resort). Also Kalpana was able to accommodate our coeliac daughter and include gluten free momos on the menu which we really appreciated. An excellent cooking class experience for us all.

An absolutely great experience! Must-do for anyone who enjoys Nepali food. - We loved our cooking class and spending time with the family. The private car transfer was very convenient and comfortable and we enjoyed spending half a day away from the inner city craziness. The home has a gorgeous garden and we loved
hearing about the different vegetables, spices and fruits. Even greater was that we then got to cook with them! The entire family was so nice, speaks good English and we had a lot of fun learning to cook Momo and Dhal Bhat. The mom is a gem, food was delicious, and we can only recommend this experience to anyone visiting Katmandu!

Experience cooking in a Nepali home with lovely people - My Mom and I spent a great afternoon with Kalpana and her son Sagar, making momos, chatting and laughing a lot. Kalpana emmantes so much warmth (and has an amazing smile) and made us feel so at home while she shared her fantastic cooking knowledge. This is not just a regular tourist experience. It's a wonderful opportunity to spend time with a lovely family, to make food and eat together. We won't forget the experience and are so grateful to Kalpana for what she shared with us. We left smiling and happy.

Amazing Experience - Absolutely amazing experience with 2 incredibly lovely ladies. This mother daughter duo were so welcoming and attentive. We learned to make a traditional Nepalese meal using all natural ingredients from Thapa’s family village.
I would highly recommend adding this as a must for your time in Kathmandu!

A good start of exploring Nepali Culture - My friends and I joined the cooking class on 9.6.2024 and it marked a good ending for our first trip of Nepal. Kalpana and her son are cheerful and warmly treated us just like part of their family and we really enjoy to cook in such a beautiful house with gorgeous garden.
In this class, we were able to cook with fresh ingredients which are truely from farm to table and got a chance to know more about the food culture of Nepal.
The food is very delious and we spend a happy time to talk, to cook with Kalpana family. High recommend to join the class!

Great food! Wonderful family!! - Our family had a wonderful time cooking with Kalpana and her son! Their place on the outskirts of the city was a nice, relaxing getaway from the chaos of Kathmandu. We were able to sit outside in their beautiful garden overlooking the city and mountains. We made Dal Baht (lentil stew with rice and sides) and also momos (dumplings). We were able to pick fresh veggies from their garden and were made to feel right at home. Everything was delicious! It was great spending time talking with a Nepalese family and we learned a lot about their food and culture. Highly recommend!
