One of the best tour experiences! - We were picked up from our hotel at the time indicated. The drive to Abisko was around an hour. We arrived at the beautiful Abisko Mountain Lodge. Our guide Onur gave a lot information on the way about Sweden and why Kiruna is the best place to see the northern lights. After dinner we started the chase at Abisko around 8:30. We waited at the spot for like 2-3 hours. Onur kept giving a lot of good information about northern lights (which now i inform others with what i have learnt from him :D) The best part was our group was like 10-12 people (with 2 guides: Onur + Iris). It really shows how nice it is to have a small group and have guides whose mentality is just to make you have the best experience instead of making big huge groups which is harder to enjoy. We were unable to see any northern lights at the first spot. Then we drove a bit back to Kiruna. We stopped at a frozen lake on the way. This place had the clear skies. And then we waited. Around 11 PM some little white lights started to appear in sky. Our guide Onur and our photographer Iris were very confident that we will see the lights and they never gave up hope. Then the lights started to get powerful as time passed. Around 12-1 we were very happy to have experienced beautiful northern lights. On the way back to our Kiruna hotel, our guide didn't give up. He said 'i have a feeling it will explode soon' and kept checking from his window. Then he stopped at somewhere and urged us to get out of the car. And there it was: a beautiful powerful green wave of light. I would like to thank our guide Onur for never giving up and always keeping us intrigued. Also special thanks to Iris for capturing many photos for our memories.

Why Experienced and Kind guides matter - Feb'25: Went with Dimitri and Daria as pir group's guides and to say everything went perfectly eould be an understatement. enroute Kiruna to Abisko, post dinner, fog started rolling in from Abisko end and soon the skies in every direction got cloudy and visibility was qurstionable but both our guides were prepared and found a perfect spot out of the path of the descending fogs and it was one of the best lights I had experienced. 💯 recommended. Everyone got their pictures clicked and dropped at our foorsteps too ✨

Chasing the Northern Lights: A Magical Night in Abisko - We started the night with the hope of seeing the northern lights, but the activity was quite low in the early hours. We had a delicious dinner in a warm and cozy restaurant in Abisko. During dinner, Onur explained how the northern lights are formed and the scientific processes behind this natural wonder. His explanations were both informative and fascinating, making the time fly by without us even realizing it. Around 8:00 PM, we left the restaurant and set out to chase the northern lights. Our first stop was a campsite near Abisko. There, we lit a campfire, drank warm rosehip tea, and ate cookies. Unfortunately, the sky was becoming cloudy, making it difficult to see the lights. However, the energy of the group remained high, and the cheerful atmosphere made the waiting much more enjoyable. Around 10:30 PM, we decided to move to another location where we might have a better chance of seeing the lights. When we set up camp by the frozen lake, the scenery was simply magical. Despite the cold, being under the night sky brought a sense of peace that was hard to describe. Onur continued to share fascinating information about natural phenomena in northern Sweden and the region’s geography. He also emphasized the importance of patience and being in the right place at the right time to witness the northern lights. Thanks to his engaging stories, the time passed quickly while we waited. At around 11:30 PM, we spotted the first signs of movement in the sky. Initially, faint white waves appeared, followed by green lights dancing across the sky. The visual spectacle was mesmerizing. Watching the northern lights emerge and transform was a powerful reminder of how awe-inspiring nature can be. Around 1:00 AM, we decided to wrap up and leave the lake. However, Onur’s intuition about the northern lights led us to stop a few times along the way. Near Kiruna, Iris – a professional and experienced photographer – confidently said, "Something is definitely going to happen here." And she was right! At that very moment, the sky exploded with brilliant green lights swirling and twisting above us. It was an unforgettable sight that left us in awe. After this breathtaking display, we continued our journey and arrived at our hotel around 2:00 AM. This patient and exciting chase to witness the northern lights turned out to be one of the most special experiences of our lives, enriched by the knowledge we gained and the magical moments we shared.

Incredible Experience - Absolutely incredible, pickup was easy, then we met Dimitri who led our tour. He stopped us multiple times on the way to Abisko for chance to see and photograph the Northern lights. He took group photos of us and offered any help needed with taking photos. Then on to Abisko mountain Lodge, a lovely cosy traditional lodge where we got a chance to eat and drink and relax. Food was great, and complimentary coffee and tea always goes down well on a cold day! Then back on the road to hunt for the lights again. Unfortunately we were a bit less successful this time but we did stop to light a fire and have some warm juice and biscuits while Dimitri explained the lights to us and answered all our questions. Photos were sent to us promptly tge next day and we couldn't be happier! Pros and Cons +Dimitris passion and explanations +Not having a rigid structure meant we saw the lights at their best before dinner +Campfire and snacks +Professional photos to keep -None whatsoever!

Simply the best - What an amazing evening, definitely recommended to anyone looking for northern light. The guide was super knowledgeable, very friendly, great sense of humor, and most importantly delivered northern lights at it’s best. Change them in Sweden and then went to Norway. Dinner was excellent. Martina, the photographer, was awesome. Great experience.
