Camp Ripan - From Kiruna, we drive into the night by car. Our goal is to catch the northern lights, learn more about nature, local culture, and visit the famous Abisko. Outside the window, we see the stars, and if we are lucky, a hint of green auroras in the sky.
1.5 hours later, we are there for a three-course dinner down in the village of Abisko….
- Camp Ripan - From Kiruna, we drive into the night by car. Our goal is to catch the northern lights, learn more about nature, local culture, and visit the famous Abisko. Outside the window, we see the stars, and if we are lucky, a hint of green auroras in the sky.
1.5 hours later, we are there for a three-course dinner down in the village of Abisko. We talk about nature, Sami culture, northern lights, and local history. We can never guarantee that we will see the aurora, but if the weather is good after dinner, we will take a walk in the Abisko area to experience the landscape and look for the northern lights. Our local guides are trained photo guides, so if you bring your camera, we will help you take photos.
If the weather isn’t good in Abisko, we start driving back to Kiruna, and if we’re lucky, the sky clears up so we can stop to see the northern lights.

Enjoy an evening filled with a 3-course dinner, where we will discuss Sami culture, nature, and the Northern Lights. The tour includes a guided visit in the Abisko area to experience the breathtaking Aurora Borealis. Depending on the weather, we may also chase the Northern Lights on our return to Kiruna. As we travel to Abisko, we will pass through various weather zones, increasing the chances of catching a glimpse of the aurora even in cloudy conditions. Tripods for your camera or mobile phone are available if needed.
