Journey to Kitgum

Kitgum - Depart from Kampala by 6:30 am and head north towards Kitgum town. This journey will take the entire day, with a lunch break along the way, accompanied by two sodas or a beer. Bottled drinking water will be available in the vehicle. There will be several stops for photography and stretching during this long 8-hour drive. The park remains untouched largely due to its remote location.

Upon arrival, you will stay at Fugley’s Guest House, a clean and comfortable facility known for its excellent food. Expats often travel miles to relax here. It features a swimming pool and is an ideal place to rest before continuing to Kidepo Valley National Park the next day.

Elgon National Park - After breakfast, drive to Mount Elgon, where you can choose from activities such as mountain biking along the park trail, guided nature walks based on your fitness level, paragliding, and bird watching. These activities can be enjoyed throughout the day, with a packed picnic lunch to savor in the mountains. The mountain features various stunning vegetation zones worth exploring. While you can enjoy the scenery from your private veranda or outdoor bathtub, the best way to experience the wildlife up close is on foot.

Explore Sipi Falls and Return to Kampala

Sipi Falls - After breakfast, take a morning nature walk to Sipi Falls and visit various caves below and behind the falls. This unique experience combines local culture, beautiful scenery, the early morning sun, and numerous colorful birds.
