Transfer to Kitgum

Kitgum - Depart Kampala at 6:30am and head north towards Kitgum town. This journey will take the entire day, with lunch and a choice of 2 sodas or a beer provided en route. Bottled drinking water will be available in the vehicle. There will be several stops for photos and leg-stretching during this 8-hour drive. The park has remained untouched largely due to its remote location.

Upon arrival, you will check in at Fugley’s Guest House, a clean and comfortable facility known for its good food (expats travel miles to relax here). The guest house features a swimming pool and is an ideal place to rest before heading to Kidepo Valley National Park the next day.

Game Drive in Kidepo National Park

Kidepo Valley National Park - After an early breakfast, continue the drive to Kidepo Valley Park, arriving in time for lunch. The drive offers a landscape very different from the rest of Uganda. Check in at your chosen lodge, rest for the evening, have dinner, and spend the night.

Meet the Karamojong

Kidepo Valley National Park - After a hearty breakfast, set off to explore the terrain and wildlife in this remote part of Uganda. Enjoy a fascinating game drive through the savannah grasslands, dry riverbeds, hills, and small forests. You will see animals like buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, lions, cheetahs, and various birds. The plants and trees will amaze you as you wonder how they survive in this semi-arid region.

Drive to the Karankorog Hot Springs, spotting several wild animals along the way. Each game drive will be unique, even if you take the same route twice, as there will always be something new to see. The birds, scenery, and animals will surprise you, so keep your camera handy to capture all the great shots.

Guided Nature Walk

Kidepo Valley National Park - Enjoy another delightful breakfast while listening to the birds singing in the trees. After breakfast, set out for a guided nature walk to experience the wilderness, surrounded by wildlife, savannah grasslands, and small forests.

Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive to further explore this remote park rich in wildlife and bird species. This will allow you to view the wildlife up close from your safari vehicle, one of the park’s highlights.

Travel to Sipi Falls

Sipi Falls - After breakfast, depart for Sipi Falls, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive at Sipi Falls Lodge in the afternoon. The lodge offers excellent food and breathtaking views at a reasonable price. It is a wonderful place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery of the falls and surrounding area. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Mt Elgon trek (Mountain Biking, Guided Nature walks)

Mt. Elgon National Park - After breakfast, drive to Mount Elgon. Choose from activities such as mountain biking along the park trail, guided nature walks, paragliding, and birding, depending on your physical fitness. These activities can be enjoyed throughout the day, with a packed picnic lunch to enjoy in the mountains. The mountain features various stunning vegetation zones worth viewing. You can also enjoy the scenery from your private verandah or outdoor bathtub, but the best way to see the wildlife up close is on foot.

Visit the Sipi Falls and back to Kampala

Sipi Falls - After breakfast, take a morning nature walk to Sipi Falls and visit some caves below and behind the falls. This unique experience combines local culture, beautiful scenery, the early morning sun, and numerous colorful birds.

Have lunch and return to Kampala, arriving in the late afternoon.
