The 2-hour Cocooning experience begins in Veitservasa, a location rich with stories and family heritage. Participants stroll through the Raekallio family’s ancient woodlands, learning how the forest’s history is interwoven with the events of the 1900s. The experience includes appreciating the trees, marveling at the tranquility of nature, and inhaling the world’s purest air.
After a 500-meter walk, the journey leads to the HaliPuu – the hugging tree forest. Pappa, a former lumberjack and the owner of the woods, preserved it from logging, allowing people worldwide to adopt the century-old pine trees. Can you find the cocoons nestled among the trees?
Throughout the walk, a specialist guide leads calming exercises to help participants focus on the present moment. When ready, participants are gently placed in their hammock-nest for the ultimate forest relaxation. There is no need to achieve or perform anything; participants are free to simply exist.
Afterward, a traditional warm blackcurrant juice and a savory snack are shared.
The return journey follows the same path, but at a different pace – now in harmony with the forest’s rhythm.
For centuries, Finnish people have drawn health benefits from the forests. They have sought stress relief and healing in the woods long before modern research into the medicinal properties of trees. Today, it is known that phytoncides released by pine trees reduce cortisol and adrenaline levels, lower blood pressure, and increase white blood cell count. Just a few hours in the forest can provide health benefits that last for weeks.
