Good sightseeing tour! - It was a good way to see the main sites. And pick the ones you wanted to visit after hearing about them on the audio.

Great Inexpensive Way to Tour a Place - I always enjoy the Hop-on Hop-off the Bus tour. It's a good inexpensive way to see and learn about the main points of interests with narration of a particular place. With the ability to get off the bus at different stops and then get back on, it's also a good mode of transportation instead of taking a taxi or Uber. This is a good way to see and learn about a particular place, especially if it's your first time traveling there.

Had a great time touring the city! - Despite all the negatives, we had a great time on the tour! Eva one of the representatives was fabulous and so friendly, she made many great recommendations to us too! Thank you very much to Eva and the tour bus company!

Good fun - 2 bus companies v similar service offered, we just picked the one with a bus available more quickly at the time. Got seats upstairs and was fun. Did a complete look of the town first to get our bearings which we read was a suggestion and it worked well for us. Then chose the places we wanted to see. A bit crazy getting sorted with the bus and the tickets while cruise travellers swamped all the bus stands… omg so bloody pushy and demanding of the bus operators . But def fun.

Adequate, rather than amazing - I always try to do a HoHo bus tour when visiting a new city as it’s a great way to get your bearings & an overview of the culture & history. There are 2 tours available, red & blue. The red tour is around the city centre & a great way to get to the palace at Knossos. Some interesting commentary, but could have said much more. There were long periods of silence which could have been filled. Instead, when the commentary restarted it repeated earlier info. The blue tour was completely pointless as it is just a shuttle service to hotels in Amourouda. Whilst on a hot day it would have been a good way to get to the beach, it would be much easier / cheaper / quicker to hop on public transport. Heard earlier info from the red route another 2 times so could nearly quote word for word by the end!!! Not always easy to find some of the stops & if I hadn’t found the timetable online, I’d have really struggled to coordinate the buses.

Caution! Don't buy online - This is a great way to get around BUT ..... There are 3 different companies, all are red and all look about the same and use same spots. We bought tickets online and NO WHERE does it say eticket NOT accepted. Must have paper. So buy from drivers.

Bad experience in Heraklion - Avoid the Crete city tour hop on hop off company, terrible experience. Nothing worked, bus was ancient rattling relic. No open window. Driver never understood English. The route never went to any sights listed and the head phones did not work.

Terrible just walk to most - Terrible. I know there are 2 red buses doing rides. Both are terrible. We did the open bus Crete City Tour. Our friends did the other. Spent 20 minutes stopped at Port as part of the loop. Saw a man fall of the stairs where flooring was detached and hanging, driver kicked the stair and said nothing! The audio ports often disconnected. The driver did not announce the stops. Just walk or catch a cab to the destinations out of town. Don’t waste your time like we all did. Good luck!

The companies are all no good - I can only advise against using one of these bus companies, no matter which of the three, we have tried them all. It already starts so much that you use the bus that comes first and then pays right there or only in the city, where then another cashier rushes to help the driver so that none of the guests can still disappear. Now the money's gone and now it's just a coincidence if you'll ever get away from where you are again. Either there are just buses coming from the other companies or there is no more space. I have never seen anything so impossible in Europe as these Greek rip-off bus companies. Better spend the money on taxis...
