Additional Information

This is where European civilization began during the era ruled over by the powerful King Minos. This is a place that simply and strangely disappeared, only to be discovered again by the English archaeologist SirArthur Evans. Now partly reconstructed, the blood-red coloured columns and gigantic doubIe-headed axes are a vivid reminder of this forgotten…

Exemplary customer service and professional guide - I booked this trip (from Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal) so I wouldn't have to figure it all out. The description was written clearly - guided your of Knossos, guided tour of Heraklion city center and do-it-yourself visit to the Museum of Archeology. I agree with another reviewer that one's hour is not enough for a serious museum visit, but it was worthwhile going for sure even for a brief visit. We were staying in Agios Nikolaos and between Chase Travel and this company (emails and calls) we knew to go to the main church on Malia ( beautiful) next to a bakery with gluten-free bread and muffins and cookies (bonus for me!). We were meet exactly on time by a driver who took us to the main coach. All seamless. Christina our guide was very experienced and very interesting on the sites (clearly personally invested in the history and archeology of Knossos) and very patient but clear on the "people wrangling" parts of the trip. We decided to take a public bus back to Agios Nikalaos instead of a taxi $$$, and Christina showed us with finger pointing exactly how to get there when we were done with the museum - we boarded with 1 minute to spare! Wonderful trip, Knossos is a magical place. And yes I'd use this tour company again, the effort they put into customer service and satisfaction (my career) is exemplary.

Highly recommended trip - As we travelled at the end of the season the shop was closed so we booked on line instead. The information provided by Tanya was excellent and even told us which side of the road we had to be on (bus stop seaside!) so no confusion as to where we were being picked up from. The trip itself was amazing and the guide was extremely knowledgable and managed time to go to the museum. We personally would have like more time in the museum but I know it's not everyone's taste but managed to see enough.

Informative interesting and very extraordinary people so many years ago . - Weather was great the trip very interesting and informative. Very busy so a lot of people. Difficult for children ie not really suitable as it’s a lot of information given by very good guides speaking in multiple languages. 1.5 to 2 hour tour in 30 degree sun hot not a lot of seating so maybe difficult for the disabled or aged .

Good tour of Knossos but no museum tour - Kristina was our guide to Knossos. Very nice and knowledgeable. She gave an enjoyable tour. However the description here should be updated to say that the visit to the museum is NOT guided. I’m glad I did it though. To those interested in visiting the museum: one hour is not enough unless you go fast. You can easily spend 2-3 hours there. Heraklion is ok. Unfortunately run down (dirty/graffitied) and has very little charm left.

Avoid this travel agency - I booked a trip to Knossos by EYE TRAVEL AGENCY and they established the meeting point very far from our hotel (1.2 kilometers distance). It was a misunderstanding of the meeting point and we cannot arrive in time. I called at the helpcenter and a lady told me to stay where we are (in front of Lytos Beach Hotel) because they will send another bus to pick up us. This was a lie, because we have waited in sun about one hour and half and nobody came to us. They cancelled the trip and they refused to give my money back. So, if you want good tourism services, avoid them.
