- The Palace of Knossos - The renowned landmark of Crete, Knossos, is an absolute “must-see” for anyone choosing to spend their vacation on our beautiful island. As one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Greece, it was the heart of one of the most influential civilizations of the ancient world. Through excavations, legends, and history, we learn about its inhabitants: the Minoan people, the rulers of the Mediterranean. With its small palace, mural room, royal tombs, and royal mansion, Knossos is likely the most significant testament to a civilization that left indelible marks on history. The complex structure of the palace’s corridors earned it the name Labyrinth, where, according to myth, the legendary Minotaur resided. The palace’s marvelous architectural design, use of rare and luxurious materials, advanced construction and drainage techniques, and its massive size make it, even today, the most astonishing sight on Crete.
- Heraklion - We return to the city for a stroll in the center of Heraklion, accompanied by our English-speaking guide. You will then have free time in the capital of Crete for shopping in its modern stores, enjoying coffee or lunch in one of its many restaurants, visiting the Archaeological Museum, or simply exploring its splendid medieval buildings.
- Patsides - After our visit to Knossos Palace, we head towards Patsides to visit the Minoan Farm, where you can sample their products and wander through their estate, fully planted with Cretan herbs.
