Wholly Immersive Experience~ - Andrew was a pro from start to finish. Whether it was from his academic background as an Asian studies major or his own personal/professional experiences as an expat living and working in the sake industry in Japan, he brought an unparalleled level of expertise to the sake tour. He was able to easily converse about the technicalities of making sake as he was able to discuss its wider historical, social, cultural significance. I would recommend this tour 100% to anyone wishing for a deeper and more insightful peek into a venerable industry/profession as well as Japan.

We went to a couple of breweries where Andrew's dedication ensured we had a memorable experience and answered our questions and further discuss sake varieties. Don’t Do Any Other Sake Tour - What a spectacular find! We did an amazing afternoon with Andrew touring some of the most prestigious and interesting Sake facilities in Nada. We also toured a traditional barrel making factory and saw live, the vanishing art of Sake barrel making. Andrew is a great communicator and made arranging the tour seamless. He has so much knowledge as a Sake brewer and makes the information accessible for the layman. He knows all the people in the breweries so you might get to meet master brewers and visit with them if your lucky. It was really fun, educational and the tastings were ample. Like touring with a friend( a knowledgeable one)!!!!!

A MUST to do experience! - The experience provided by Andrew is unparalleled! He is, first of all, a Sake Brewer himself and this makes the tour unique and special as he makes sake and knows lots about it. You can really tell the true passion Andrew has for Sake, and the way he explains about Sake, its history and the making process is really easy to understand and to the point. I would recommend this experience for sake beginners and people in the industry as well! It's not every day you get to walk around one of the most famous Sake places with a real Kurabito! A MUST

Highly Recommend - unique sake experience! - I organized a tour with Andrew for my group. He was easy to coordinate with and provided helpful information leading up to the tour. The tour location was an easy direct 35min train ride for us from Osaka. We had some knowledge of sake beforehand, but Andrew provided a great balance of additional information, history of the Nada region, and personal experience as a brewer! It was a highlight of our trip! I would definitely recommend it to anyone with an interest in sake!

Excellent tour of the sake breweries of Nada in Kobe - I can't recommend this sake brewery tour highly enough. I have been on quite a few tours of sake breweries and I learned more from Andrew of Origin Sake on this 3-hour than in all of the others combined! To have someone with a knowledge and passion as deep as Andrew's when it comes to sake brewing, combined with his experience working in some of Japan's most notable breweries, is a real treat. He is an excellent storyteller and when I occasionally asked questions that veered into technical territory, Andrew did an amazing job of explaining in terms I could understand. We also got the chance to enjoy some awesome sake and, as Andrew has good relationships with many of the people you meet at the breweries, you feel less like a tourist and more like a guest, if you know what I mean. I joined the Nada West tour between Uozaki and Mikage and sometime in the future I hope to return to Kobe to take the Nishinomiya tour. This is a great tour for both certified sake aficionados and newbies alike!

A delightful day out exploring the fascinating history of sake in Nada. - As a rare English speaking sake brewer Andrew was wonderful company, generous with his time and knowledge and he answered all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. We loved getting a sense of the skill and craftmanship that goes into making sake and barrels, and of course trying a few!

A must-do Nada sake tour (West).! - Spent the day on the Nada Tour West (Kobe) with Andrew. A trip to Japan’s most famous brewing region wouldn’t be complete without a guided tour by an experienced sake brewer who works for one of the breweries in the area. You will gain insights on the history of breweries like Sakura Masamune, Kiku Masamune, Haku Masamune, the significance of key buildings, mountains, and the natural phenomena that made this location so popular for sake brewing, onsite! Get to see the first water rice polishing machine and cedar barrel factory was really bonus. Whether you are new to sake, an experienced sake drinker, sake sommelier, or just in the area for sightseeing, Andrew’s knowledge and sharing would certainly make your trip a fruitful one.

Unique sake tour by a sake brewer guide - For our first time in Japan we didn't want to miss on experimenting sake. I was looking for a tour that would teach us how to appreciate the beverage but as well give us an introduction into the brewing process and the culture around sake. Andrew's tour across the renowned Nada's five village allowed us to discover some of the most iconic breweries in Japan, viewing their cask making workshop, historical exhibits about brewing as well as tasting their sake. The final stop at a sake bar installed in a former brewery was a great opportunity to sample some more sake in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. On top of being super friendly and passionate about sake, Andrew, being a sake brewer himself, has a deep expertise and unique insights on how breweries operate. We had an amazing experience and we are thankful to Andrew for taking the time to guide us and share his knowledge and passion with us. If you are travelling to Nada, this is a tour you definitely want to book!

Sake Tour in Kobe - Fantastic day of sake! I booked a tour of Nada for me and my husband who has recently taken an interest in sake. After an amazing afternoon exploring Kobe with Andrew we are both sake converts! We started with a pleasant stroll past some of Japan’s biggest breweries, saw sake barrels being made, and got to taste lots of different kinds of sake throughout the afternoon. We even walked past the brewery where our guide makes sake in winter! The highlight for both of us was definitely the Nada Sake Tokoro. It's a former sake brewery, and they still have tanks and stuff next to where you drink. We got to taste three amazing local sake which Andrew selected for us. An experience we wont forgot.
