Additional Information

Explore the charm of the Slovenian coastline and the Karst region. Our first destination is the UNESCO acknowledged Skocjan Caves, one of the biggest and most mesmerizing Karst landscapes in Europe, boasting the Reka River flowing 200m beneath the surface. We then visit a local tavern where you can sample the renowned Karst air-cured ham, served with Teran - a local wine, exclusive to the Karst region. We make a brief visit to Lipica, the cradle of the white Lipizzaner horse. We traverse the coastal towns of Koper, Izola and Portoroz, culminating in everyone’s cherished place on the Slovenian coast – Piran. Here, you can wander in its medieval narrow lanes and houses, enjoying some leisure time.

Our final stop is Predjama Castle en route to Ljubljana. Learn about the secrets of the largest cave castle (recognized by Guinnes World Records!), set on a 123-meter high cliff, and discover the story of the local legend, the knight Erazem, often referred to as the Robin Hood of the area.

We return to Lujbljana during the early evening.

A worthwhile tour. - Novak, The tour was excellent. Everything was done in a reasonable time. The tourist guide, Mr. Primoz Novak drove well, knows the history of the places we visited and of Slovenia and was very helpful and polite. Also, the tourist guide at Skocjan Caves, Mr. Crt Kozlovic, was very helpful and took care of the group inside the cave with extremely ability with older people and me. I'm a disabled person and he guided the tour in such a way that I was able to enjoy the tour inside the caves and complete it with safety.

Just do it! - Fabulous trip, Primus was a superb guide/driver for our group of seven. With three different nationalities it must’ve been like herding cats for him when he dropped us off and picked us up. The caves were amazing, the horses gorgeous to see and we had plenty of time in Piran to view from the city wall and a leisurely sea-front lunch at one of numerous restaurants. The castle view on way back lovely and we got back to Ljubljana about 7. A long day but we packed so much in and Primus was the perfect host. Thank you for a great day!

Memorable - This tour was great - loved the stop at the caves, they were breath taking. The stop in Piran was long enough to have an explore & eat yummy sea food. We opted to miss the tasting stop in order to get more time in Piran which was the right decision, as I still felt like a little more time in Piran would have been nice! However, it still felt satisfying. Loved the stop to see the horses and to learn a bit about them. Our guide was amazing, funny, knowledgable & the van was comfortable and clean :)

Amazing experience for great value! - I usually don’t do tours but THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE! With the transportation in Slovenia, it’s a little tough to get around if you’re leaving the city. The transport in itself to these places all day was worth it, but to do so in great company AND learn sooo much great info? Would definitely do more tours with this company. Certainly recommend.

Very good tour - will recommend. - Good destinations for a 10-hour day tour. Recommend: Wear comfortable and unslippery shoes. Be ready to climb up and down the stairs in the cave. Seniors should be in good health.

To many places to visit in a day. - Skocjan Caves is really interesting place to visit. The guide sugested at the begining of the trip that we could go directly to Piran instead of going to eat prosciuto as it was in the program. The time we had in Piran was not enough to take a dip in the sea+lunch+visit the town or a museum. And yet he took us to take pictures to a castle that was not in the annouced program!

No shuttle to ŠKocjan caves - There is no bus or shuttle from Divaca to the caves. We started to walk (an hour) but Google maps took us along a motorway with no foot path so that was impossible. 4 trains and a wasted day. We had prepaid our ticket. The caves may be amazing but don’t go unless you are driving. Also don’t believe everything that is on here (my fault, should have double check elsewhere).
