In 1690, Job Charnok, an agent of the East India Company, selected this location for a British trade settlement. During this walk, you’ll pass by colonial buildings from the British era. You’ll learn about the British East India Company’s establishment of a factory in White Town in 1690 and their evolution from traders to rulers. You’ll see numerous heritage buildings and discover the history of Kolkata. Take a stroll through British Colonial Town and hear fascinating facts and stories from us.

  • Malik Ghat Flower Market - Part–2. The Vibrant Chaos of the Flower Market & Iconic Howrah Bridge
The flower market is a feast for the eyes, offering a glimpse into the vibrant chaos of India’s largest flower market. Walk through to witness the colorful displays. It is also the oldest market in India.

  • Writers’ Building - The Writers’ Building is the secretariat building of the State Government of West Bengal in Kolkata. The 150-meter long building spans the entire northern side of the iconic Lal Dighi pond in the downtown area of Dalhousie Square. Informative tour with kind guide - This was a really fun day. I learned so much about Kolkata in both its recent and older history. Of note, Muzaffar did a great job highlighting idiosyncratic elements of Indian life in the city that otherwise would have eluded me such as people hiring people to wait in line to exchange 2,000 rupee bills that were made defunct a few months ago. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to understand Kolkata in both present and past.

Amazing Tour! - My parents came to Kolkata in the end of February to attend my wedding. During that time, I arranged this city tour for them to see some of the most famous sites of Kolkata with a local. After the tour, my parents asked me to write this review in their name. They loved every moment of their Kolkata tour. Muzaffar is an amazing tour guide who makes sure that his clients have a great experience. He is friendly, reliable and very knowledgeable. He took my parents to so many places places and went above and beyond to ensure they had everything they needed. They highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits the city!

Fun and eye-opening power walk around Kolkata - Absolutely recommend. Muzaffar took us on a fun and enlightening walk around Kolkata's historic quarter, including the architectural remnants of the East India company. We also visited the flower market under the Howrah bridge and took a ferry to a village downriver with a long history of artisanal craftsmanship, and intriguing historic buildings of its own. A great introduction to the city

Fantastic Experience! - We had an excellent trip with Muzaffar. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and has excellent service skills. We saw parts of the city in great detail. He goes at the pace that you want, and we had a ferry ride, hand-rickshaw ride, tram ride and Kolkata yellow taxi ride, apart from all that is mentioned in the tour. The entire tour is unhurried, and that is the best part. I would certainly recommend Tour de Kolkata to all visitors and even locals.

Soak in some Joy! - Kolkata! what Joy it was to walk on its streets, basking in it’s past glory, hustling through its markets, soaking in the grandness and culture and not the least chitchatting with the people who never cease to be joyful. Thanks a ton to Muzaffar ji for the joyful experience. Would definitely recommend!

Unique sites and incredible history - I took the Hello Calcutta tour last Monday and was extremely pleased by Muzaffar's hospitality and knowledge of the city. I have been traveling to Calcutta for business for the past 5 years and even after many visits, I was able to discover many new and interesting insights from this tour. Muzaffar clearly has a passion for the city and its history. He arrived at my hotel on time and was attentive to my needs throughout the day. I am looking forward to bringing my family back in the future and will be sure to use Tour de Kolkata.

Fairly okay experience - The guide was quite cordial and ensured that I would get the best experience. That said, Trip Advisor should not take bookings on holidays. Most of the places were closed. The highlight, ferry ride, was also shut. Definitely not worth 2k.
