Excellent walking tour of Kolkata - Soham is an incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable guide. This walking tour gives you an excellent feel for this amazing city and Soham’s obvious affection for his home town shines through. Thoroughly recommended.

Don't hesitate to book this tour, it's amazing! - I loved the Magic Hour Tour, it is totally worth getting up early for. I was traveling solo in Kolkata and found Soham's tours through google/airbnb. My visit to Kolkata was infinitely better due to the tours ( I did both the Magic Hour Tour and the Alleyway food tour). Soham is a wonderful person who has curated an amazing tour that allows you to see Kolkata in a way you otherwise would not be able to. He takes you to the places that are important to him and his family for generations, allows you to experience the city like a local (take public transit, walk around). Can't recommend Soham highly enough!

Wow, absolutely amazing - Wow, actually don’t know how many times I said “ wow” to Soham during the magic hour tour.As a solo traveller from Ireland, I’ve felt like a local with Soham. His passion for his home city can’t be bottled. Ended up doing all of the 3 tours woth Calcutta Capsule. Each one of them are superb and unique. Will always cherish my memories of this amazing city all thanks to Soham @ Calcutta Capsule tours❤️❤️❤️

Oh! Calcutta. - It is SO obvious that Soham loves Kolkata. He has discovered the innermost workings of the city. The flower market is unbelievable both in size and in colour. Think of all those marigolds around the necks of idols and celebrities and ordinary people like you and me. The idol making area is a wonder too, to an artist like me. So much craft and skill.
Then there is the chai and finally a breakfast. The best ever. Soham I wish you well! Thank you. Nimmi Hutnik London

How to fall in love with this city. - I did this walking tour of Calcutta again after 7 years, and the wonder is still there! This early morning walk plunges us into the unique atmosphere of the city that is gradually awakening. Soham, our passionate guide, knows Calcutta at his fingertips and knows how to convey his love for this beautiful city.
Throughout the tour, he introduced us to iconic and unusual places using different modes of transport, adding a touch of adventure to the experience. With Soham, every corner of Calcutta comes to life, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with this vibrant and colorful city.
Many thanks for this visit which remains, once again, an unforgettable moment. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to explore the soul of Calcutta authentically!

Not like your Average Walking Tour - Not like your average walking tour.
Soham showed us a side of Kolkata that you would not normally see and was highly knowledgeable and passionate on all the local history and culture taking us deep inside of the local markets streets and lanes that you would never find as a tourist:

Don’t miss this tour! - Absolutely loved the magic hour tour with Soham. It was so well planned out and gave us a real taste of Kolkata life, we never would have seen so much just wandering around the city on our own. Soham clearly loves his city and you can tell in the pride in which he takes explaining it to others, he is so knowledgeable of both the history of Kolkata and India - I learnt so much! Don’t miss this tour - As a solo female traveler, the Magic Hour Tour of Calcutta with Soham was perfect. Soham’s love for his city is poetic, romantic, and came through every stop we made and every story he tells. It was really special to see Calcutta through Soham’s eyes. With all the public transportation we took, I never felt unsafe and made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. A very well planned tour, with a lot of serendipitous surprises that Soham did not want me to miss out on seeing/ experiencing.

Top marks all round - This was the third tour we took with Soham from Calcutta Capsule and, like the other two, it was wonderful. To keep things interesting and enjoyable in the unusually hot and humid weather we had is a real accomplishment, but somehow he managed! It was a treat to see the city first thing, before the madness really starts and it gave us a different view from the past few days.
Soham brings a wealth of information and passion for his city and even though it was the third tour he didn’t repeat himself, meaning there was great value in booking all three. Learning about the flower market, the potters making the festival idols and all the stories that go with those, walking the bridge, taking so many different forms of transport - it was all brilliant and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Soham is an exceptional tour guide - conscious of your safety and sensitivities, knowledgable, funny and deeply kind.

Getting Up Close and Personal with Kolkata - Undoubtedly the best tour guide one can ask to have. Soham is well organised,punctual,eloquent, patient and incredibly passionate about his city and that comes through with all the historical and fun facts/trivia he adds to each stop on the walk. He is safety conscious and that helped me relax and take in the sights & stories that make Kolkata what it is rather than the overwhelming crowds and bustling traffic around me.He’s also a celebrity of sorts and is clearly very well respected and liked amongst the elders and community he introduces you to as you discover the city of joy on the Magic Hour Tour. Even if you are a solo traveller like I was , I highly recommend the Calcutta Capsule for the happy memories you’re sure to take home with you!
