Land Rover Tour of Military and Local Sites. - Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide seeing multiple military sites as well as beautiful vista’s and views of the town below. Eight passengers in the Land Rover which was comfortable and really the only way to drive and navigate the steep and rocky roads! When we were in the military tunnels, we were provided with helmets and helmet lights and our guide lead us through the tunnel(s) giving detailed information about the different “rooms/chambers” in the tunnels. The cave where warships were hidden was also very interesting and we even had time to explore the village of Komiza. All in all it was an excellent tour and I highly recommend it.

VisIT military tour - Great jeep tour of the military remainings on the island including an abandoned fortress, underground tunnels and a hidden submarine water tunnel. During the ride we enjoyed great vistas of the island. The tour guide Neno is a native of the island and knows all the legends and details of the island history.

History Comes Alive - Well, I thought I hd a decent grasp of history until I finished with the Military Tour! Although the insides of the bunkers are essentially bare from the government taking out the important equipment and the local gypsies supposedly stripping the rest of the leftover equipment for scrap metal, our guide, Duje still Ade the empty rooms come alive with his entertaining and informative narrative about World War 2, Tito and the post-Balkan War era. I asked him ALOT of questions which he welcomed and offered interesting and astute answers. The Military Tour easily qualifies as one of the most unique activities I have participated in during my travels to Europe. You don't have to be a student of military history to be fascinated by this tour,

The must see tour - Very interesting and exciting tour!! We had visited military locations which were top secret until 90s and some of them have breath taking views! Our guide Duje was great! He gave us rarely known information about ex-military locations we had visited and he also told us a lot about the history of the island in general. The tour lasted for about 4 hours and they can pick you up in Vis or you can directly come to Komiza. We booked one day ahead. They have morning and afternoon option. I highly recommend this tour to adventurous people and people interested in recent history and active vacation!

If you go to Vis - Take the Military tour. - If you go to Vis - Take the Military tour. We had a very good guide and went on to see the secret military complexes around the island. The stories the guide told us were interesting, full of facts and funny stories, and something both I as an adult and my two kids (8 and 11 years) enjoyed. We started visiting some underground tunnels seeing old canons, Then we visited a rocket and missile base, Titos old cave ending with a surprise that really was interesting. I must admit I don't have a deep (if any) knowledge of the military, but the guide was just soo good. I highly recommend this tour for anybody!

Nice military tour with perfect guiding - We wanted to learn a bit more about the military history of the island Vis so we booked the military tour with Alternature. The evening before (21hrs) we booked for the next morning. Within minutes we got confirmation by sms message. Perfectly ontime at 1015 hrs the next mirning we started our Landrover tour with Goran as our driver/guide. He made a very nice tour. We first visited the missile base at Stupišće point with its enormous bunkers and tunnels. And then Tito’s cave. He also told about and showed us the beauty of the island. We were with 6 plus Goran in the 4x4 Defender. We loved the 4 hours of this tour! Very recommendable!

The Military tour - good idea but expensive and insufficiently elaborated - We take the Military tour. It's very good idea but insufficiently elaborated and without factual data on the army's stay on the island. The trip consists of visiting available military facilities and it is very interesting. The guide knows nothing concrete, he only told gossip and situations from his service in the JNA army. The guide needs to specifically learn more information about the locations it shows. Otherwise the tour is beautiful and has a lot of potential to develop an interesting and instructive story
