Additional Information

Korça, often referred to as the ‘town of songs’ and the cultural heartland of the region, was once known as the ‘Small Paris’ of Albania. It absorbed the cultural heritage and many citizens from Voskopoja (Moscopoli), which was previously the cultural hub of Albania until it was devastated and obliterated by Ottoman forces. Our journey includes a stop by the city center, the ‘Resurrection of Christ’ Orthodox Cathedral - the most grand in Albania, constructed in 1992 over the ruins of the previous cathedral demolished under the Communist regime, as well as countless other religious buildings prohibited during that time. Following the cathedral, our trip proceeds to a museum that pays homage to the ‘First Albanian language school in Albania’ that was established in 1887, located in the heart of Korça city.
