Embark on an exclusive journey to The German Nazi Penal Labour and Extermination Camp in Treblinka, where over 800,000 Polish Jews were slaughtered during World War II. This six-hour tour will take you through the former campgrounds and share the stories of those who survived.
Treblinka, specifically Treblinka II, is the second largest death camp, following Birkenau, where German and Austrian Nazis executed more than 800,000 Polish Jews and subjected tens of thousands more Poles to a neighboring forced labour camp.
Treblinka sets itself apart from other similar locations. You will not see barracks or crematoria. Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto were transported here under appalling conditions by train and then pushed directly from the railway platform to gas chambers. Forty minutes later, the bodies of the victims were buried in enormous mass graves.
The thick forest enclosing the site creates an almost eerie ambiance. The beauty of the surrounding natural environment, contrasted with the awareness of the terrible tragedy that took place here, triggers profound emotions.
