Surprisingly Positive - Cool two-part trip. First a boat tour of around an hour with lots of animals in and around the water. Then fireflies. Book something exclusive. There were 5 of us on the boat. Next door there were 20-person mass-produced Chinese boats.

Lovely experience - It was a slightly different experience than described, but this is because of the impact of Covid and hopefully things get back to normal as time goes on. Things are really just opening up for tourism, here. Company did everything right, everyone did a great job and we really enjoyed the river "safari" and were enthralled by the fireflies. Bit of a drive from KK center, but nothing anyone can do about that. Worth it.

Good river tours, don’t bank on the dinner - Both river cruises were great, Dinner was not what we expected. Advertised as local restaurant however it wasn’t. The first place had cooked up a limited food offer. All ok however for the price, I anticipated a better dinner (and some sort of drink other than water)

I had a boat to myself... - I had a boat to myself with two boatmen. It was raining my pants were wet despite the life jacket they let me sit on.

Pro is us Monkeys and Fireflies river cruise - A good tour to see the Proboscis Monkey endemic to Borneo. Quite a drive from our hotel ~ 2 hours (would be quicker but for the roadworks along the way) A tour along the river to see 3 types of Monkey including Proboscis, Macaque and silver languor. Also a tree snake swimming across the river. Many varieties of birds. A stop for a buffet dinner then after dark another cruise along the river to see fireflies in the trees. Fireflies sparkled like stars along the riverbanks. Another ~2 hour journey back to the hotel. Left hotel @ 2 pm and returned @ 9 pm

DO NOT BOOK THIS - Absolutely disgraceful trip. We were taken in a taxi with a non English speaking guide as advised in the itinerary. When we arrived at the river cruise area, we were not greeted by anyone or told where to go by our driver so we just went to what looked like a seating area. Refreshments were severely lacking. You had a choice of warm water, warm rose water or stewed tea. The so called cruise itself was a joke, you picked a life jacket off a pile and hoped it fitted. The boat had definitely seen better days, to get onto the boat you had a very large step of at least two foot off the jetty, the hand rail moved as the plastic decking was broken and it was all very unsafe and unsteady. We had a full boat of people and a guide however, it wasn’t our guide he was the Chinese guide for the other passengers. This meant we couldn’t understand the safety instructions or have any information about what we were going to see down the river. Not that this really mattered as the so called Cruise was approximately 250 mtrs at most one way and only about 150mtrs the other way. We did get to see a monkey but because the boat had a roof unless you were sitting at the front you really couldn’t see. The other passengers were all standing up in front of us and were not advised to sit down by their guide. We stayed in the same spot for about 20mins waiting for the monkeys do more than sit in the trees hiding (which of course they don’t). .The drivers of the boats know when and where the monkeys are so we could have gone further to see anymore wildlife, although I am suspicious that the monkeys are the only species that live in this limited space. When the cruise was over we were taken back to the seating area which now served as a dining area, this is not a local restaurant as stated in the itinerary, in-fact it is not a restaurant at all and the local delicacy of noodles, chicken and fish again with only warm water or warm rose water to drink is not a great meal. We then had to get back into the car and we were driven 30 mins or so to a dirt track by a beach littered with rubbish to see the sun set. We then had another half hour or so drive to another boating area where our non English speaking driver managed to back into a parked car. This yard was worse than the first one in terms of facilities which looked like they only had buckets and squat toilets, nowhere to get a drink etc . The boat was as bad as the first boat with an extra large drop to get on the boat (although getting off was by some steps). By now it is dark and you have the magical and I do mean magical 15 min trip with the fire flys, it is like something out of a Disney movie. It concludes with a two hour drive back to your hotel. In short DO NOT BOOK THIS TRIP IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING An expectation of seeing any wildlife Mobility issues (I had a knee replacement) Want to eat at a local restaurant Have a comfortable boat trip that is longer than 250 mtrs or more than 15 mins

Do not book this trip Not as described - This tour was basically like a cobbled together tour with a driver just picking us up - no official guide. Drive was 2& half hours to first boat trip Still no official Guide just one who said he wasn't a river guide he just did it for a hobby. High tea was just cold noodles & sausages in tomato sauce & jam sandwiches. River trip not too bad but the meal after was not in a restaurant but on the jetty with no ejectricity so we were eating in the dark. The food was boney chicken grisly beef & rice & vegetables My friend who I had said was a veggie could only have vegetable & rice all of which was cold. Not the delicious local meal described We were then sent onward with just the driver to the firefly cruise at this fine it was pouring with rain & we taken to an old shed & told we would have to wait for the rain to stop before the firefly cruise. As we had a two & half hour drive back & the rain was so heavy & not going to stop We decided to gi straight back. So basically this was a waste of money
