  • The Nabalu Market - Depart from the city hotel. The journey to Kinabalu Park takes about 1½ hours drive through scenic countryside and beautiful mountain range. On the way, stop by at the Nabalu Fruit Market to buy some fruits and souvenir.
  • Mount Kinabalu Botanical Garden - Upon arrival at 1100hrs, follow the Park Naturalist on a guided trails walk and they will point out the various wonder. Visit the Mountain Garden or Mt Kinabalu Botanical Garden.
  • Kinabalu Park - You may find diverse species of flora from all over the park has been replanted here. Lunch at the local restaurant. Visit the Exhibition Hall or you may sign up on the audio-visual shows featuring rare flora and fauna which are found in the park. Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon.
  • Mount Kinabalu - Enjoy the view of Mount Kinabalu from Kinabalu Park.
  • Poring Hot Spring and Nature Reserve - Upon arrival, take a 20 minutes hike to reach the Canopy Walkway.
  • Poring Hot Springs - Experience the height of 200 feet above ground from top of the tree itself or proceed back to Kota Kinabalu

Kinabalu Park, the first World Heritage Site in Malaysia, and considered as the hub of plant diversity in Southeast Asia, houses over 5,000 species of vascular plants.

Travel to the park takes approximately an hour and a half, traversing picturesque countryside and splendid mountain terrains. On your way, you will halt at the Nabalu Fruit Market. Once at Kinabalu Park HQ, accompany a park naturalist on a jungle walk, and pay a visit to the Mountain Garden or Plant Research Centre. Witness Borneo’s smallest orchid as well as various other flora. Visit the exhibition centre to watch captivating slide shows on the unique animal and plant species found only in Mount Kinabalu.

In the afternoon, you’ll dine at a local eatery. After which, you’ll travel to Poring Hot Spring, which is 45 minutes away. This route will take you through Kundasang’s vegetable market town. Upon reaching, take a 20-minute hike to the Canopy Walkway. Here, you get to experience what it feels like to be 200 feet above the ground, amidst the treetops.

Rough road - Views were nice but road was terrible! Also a lot of rubbish on side of road. Why don’t locals care about their environment?
