Exceptional well-crafted experience - Amazing! Unique way to taste and understand a wide array of teas, and the framework behind them. The host (Yosuke) is professional and welcoming. His expertise and careful preparation made the 1.5 hours fly by...a perfect amount of information, enough variety to taste (but not too much) with a lovely narrative arc. We felt we got a glimpse of something really special. The location is also interesting and easy to find, and the space is quiet and aesthetic. Very much worth it, especially if you are a bit nerdy and like things like wine-tastings, etc.

Perfectly balanced tasting - So enjoyable, and such a cool window into the world of Japanese tea. Yosuke is professional, organized, kind, and generous with his knowledge. If you like wine tastings, etc., this is a tour de force--well-paced, well-balanced in breadth and depth of knowledge, efficient but also contemplative. The neighbourhood is neat to see, the place is easy to find, and the tea was delicious and interesting. Completely worth the effort and the time, and we feel it has opened up tea-based opportunities for the rest of our trip.

Very informative (and tasty!) - I love Japanese green tea, so I jumped at the chance to learn more about it from an expert. It's not often that one has an opportunity like, this to taste so many different varieties with guidance on what to pay attention to, along with a ton of fascinating information about how each variety is grown and prepared. Yosuke was so patient with all of my questions and so incredibly knowledgable. It was real a privilege to have had the chance to do this and I'm very grateful to Yosuke for offering this experience.

Perfect for both food and Japanese history fans, as well as tea enthusiasts - This was such a unique opportunity to learn from an expert. I was able to try 9 different teas and learn about the differences between them. The host is incredibly knowledgeable and was more than happy to answer my questions. For anyone who enjoys tea or who can appreciate tasting experiences like those for wine or when attending cupping sessions for coffee, you will enjoy this. 2 notes- first, there is opportunity to purchase some of the teas from the hosts company at the end but what was good is there was no pressure, and there was full transparency of a price list (and can pay card). I mention this not as a negative but because I always prefer a heads up as I get nervous sometimes with tours that they are going to try a hard sales pitch. Second point, this is in what appears to be a residential apartment block. The address listed on the Viator page that was copied and pasted direct into Uber sent me to the wrong place and I needed to walk 15 minutes to try and find the actual location using the integrated map in the app which took me to the actual address. Since it is not a public location, maybe need to screenshot map view if using map or transport service external to Viator app. Lucky as I was only attendee I didn’t miss anything and we just started when I got there.

If You're Curious About Japanese Teas, This is the Class for You! - The "class" was truly excellent! Yosuke did a superb job of explaining the different teas we sampled. He was extremely through and knowledgeable. He had a 9 page handout for us to follow as we sampled each tea, which came in handy. Nothing was rushed. And, were encouraged to take our time to tasting and ask to questions. I would HIGHLY recommend this class.

Perfect way to spend an afternoon - What an incredible experience! An excellent host who is very knowledgeable about the Japanese tea industry. While tasting a variety of delicious teas, we learned about how Japanese tea is farmed and produced. We had a very curious group and all of our questions were answered with enthusiasm and in great detail. For someone who hasn't explored too many green teas before this, it was the perfect way to discover what I like and learn along the way.
