Highlights
  • Unnamed Road - The Blue Cave Kayak & SUP Tour is an exploration of the Adriatic Coast on the Lustica Peninsula. The tour visits a number of geological formations extended over 2.5 kilometers of coastline, including many caves. There are two large “Blue Caves” one with cavernous entrances, another accessible only in a prone position and a number of smaller ones.

The clear, undulating blue-green water is perfect for snorkeling, cliff jumping and underwater photography. This tour is the only sustainable way to explore the caves and the area. A 7:30am departure is recommended when possible, in as the sea state is calmer, temperature cooler and there is little boat traffic.

After pick up at one of the meeting points in Kotor or Tivat, we drive to Veslo campground (40 minutes). After a safety briefing and launch, we are on the water for about 3 hours. This tour is moderately difficult, requiring 1.5 hours paddling; the balance of the tour is given to swimming, snorkeling and exploring.

Great Adventure - a great trip! easy communication with the host! would recommend this as you get to go to a little more unique caves than if you go to the caves on a boat!

Amazing Kayak and Snorkelling experience! - We went off season, towards the end of October and while we were initially worried about the weather it turned out perfect! It was just me and my girlfriend so it felt like a private tour. Jeffrey was a great guide, the tour felt very laid back, relaxed and we were able to go at our own pace. It was a perfect balance of kayaking, snorkelling and exploring the caves.

Should be your first, he was our last - This is the one. This should be your first stop in Montenegro. Jeffery went above and beyond on a day he could have just cancelled because of bad weather. Instead of just cancelling he made sure we got everything we were looking for, and a full day of fun. Jeffery should be your first tour guide here, because he will be your best guide (and contact!) here.

Amazing tour; communication a bit tricky - We did a kayaking tour along the sea coast of Montenegro and into the Blue Cave (as well as other caves) and had an amazing time. We highly recommend the tour, although would have appreciated clearer communications. We have kayaked a fair amount, and this tour was one of the more beautiful ones we've taken. In our kayaks, we were able to enter small places, and to start earlier in the day, so we had the cave and much of the coastline to ourselves. There were only the two of us in one kayak, and two guides in another, and it almost felt more like spending time with friends (who knew the area well) than an official tour. We had freedom to suggest places to explore, to spend as much time as we wanted in each location, and to thoroughly enjoy our time on the water. It appears that the company is fairly small, so I can understand that communication may be hard, and the weather is tricky in this area, so I'll describe our experience and hope that it can be improved. We had signed up for the kayak tour, with a meeting spot just outside the old city of Kotor. We arrived as scheduled but never saw a pickup vehicle, leaving us frustrated and confused as to whether we'd gone to the wrong place, or gotten the time wrong, or what had happened. We had included both an email address and a US cell number with our reservation, so they should have had access to those, but we received no communication and were left confused. Eventually after about 30 minutes of waiting, we returned to Kotor and our hotel and then, after much searching, found a US cell number listed somewhere on their web site. We texted that number, and connected with a team member, and after that things much improved. He was able to tell us that the weather wasn't conducive to a tour that morning and offer to fully refund our payment. Since we were going to be in Kotor for a couple more days, we proposed rescheduling for a morning two days later, and this was what we eventually did. Once we established a connection, they were friendly, and everyone we met was very hospitable and, as noted above, we loved the tour itself. It just would have been much easier and less stressful for us if they'd reached out to keep us informed, instead of leaving us standing there wondering what had gone wrong and then searching for a way to connect.

The highlight of my Kotor travel! - My friend and I booked this tour for the 14th September but due to unexpected weather, they professionally adviced us to postpone to the following day for a better experience. We didn't have much experience with kayaking but we managed! Rafa, our guide was very helpful and reassuring. He prioritised our safety, at the same time still made sure we had the most wonderful time kayaking through the blue cave and the black cave. His colleague Dallas was equally delightful to spend time with, helping us through the journey when our weak arms gave up on us. We couldn't be more elated to have their companion for one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had. Definitely a must do in Kotor!

Best way to see the Blue Cave - Raphael and Malte were lovely tour guides, we had such a calm nice day on the water, jumping from cliffs, swimming, seeing different caves. It was one of our highlights on our Montenegro trip.

Beautiful clear blue waters and a good way to start a day! - Great kayak tour to the caves from Kotor with a very friendly and experienced guide Igor. We started from Kotor at 7.45am (the earliest we could get off the ship and short walk to the meeting point - thanks Igor and Malte for waiting for us!) and were driven through lovely countryside to the coast. The kayaking was excellent with calm waters and an early start meant few others around. Back in time for a beer and a dander around Kotor old town before heading back to the ship. Definitely recommend. A little pricey, but these kayaks are very strong and stable and so don't come cheap and the wee tour of the countryside en route was a bonus!

Awesome time kayaking - This was a great experience and a great way to be able to see the blue cave. We were also able to see the black cave which you could not do any other way than on a kayak. We were able to do some cliff jumping and swimming. Our guides were absolutely wonderful. They were very helpful and we had a great time with them.

Unique caving kayaking - Really fun kayaking and snorkelling tour. Malter (our guide) was fantastic - so calm and let us go at our own pace and have a really enjoyable experience. The additional cave we went in was really cool and not something most tourists experience (Malter was incredibly patient as I didn’t want to go in at first and would have regretted missing out). Thanks Malter! The only downside was the drop off was a bit long winded and took about 1.5 hours to get back to Kotor.
