- Our Lady of the Rocks - Nestled in the serene waters of the Bay of Kotor, The Lady of the Rocks stands as a testament to the sheer force of human faith and collective effort. This man-made island, conceived in the mid-15th century, was painstakingly built by the spirited folk of Perast, a quaint coastal village. These individuals, primarily military sailors under the dominion of the Venetian Republic, were not only skilled in the art of war but deeply rooted in their religious convictions and cultural heritage.
Within the walls of the church lies a repository of culture and history, magnificently adorned with oil paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a master of the local arts. The church also showcases a vast collection of silver ex-voto gifts, each piece recounting stories of peril, prayer, and providence
This place not only preserves the traditions of the past but also breathes life into the ongoing story of a people devoted to their faith and to each other.
NOTE: We will pass by only if departure is from Kotor
- Former Submarine Tunnel - Submarine tunnels in the Bay of Kotor encapsulate a unique blend of natural beauty and historical fortitude. Nestled within the stunning mountains and serene waters of the Adriatic and Mediterranean convergence, this locale is more than just a picturesque landscape. It serves as a formidable natural fortress with a rich history of military strategy and architectural ingenuity.
Visitors to the bay can now explore these historical tunnels, gaining a glimpse into the clandestine naval operations of the past. The experience is often likened to being in a James Bond movie, adding an element of adventure and intrigue to the visit.
These submarine tunnels are a highlight of many speed boat tours in the region, offering a cool retreat from the summer sun and a unique peek into the maritime military history of the Bay of Kotor. They stand as a testament to the ingenuity and strategic importance of the region, making them a must-see for history buffs and adventure seekers alike.
- D-Marin Portonovi Marina - Portonovi is somewhat like a sister marina to Porto Montenegro. It is another great example of how luxury is seamlessly blended with history and nature inside the Bay of Boka. Similar to Porto Montenegro and yet different.
This luxurious marina was built on the grounds of a former Yugoslavia’s federal army barracks. An inspiration, along with Porto Montenegro, in the way how we decide to remodel an old symbol into a new, shining one. It offers the amenities like you would expect from a modern marina – plenty of modern shops, cafes, restaurants and even its own beach. Since it is the latest marina being built in the Bay, it is still being built and expanded, adding upon this high luxurious note. Portonovi is located very close to the town of Herceg – Novi. This town is another historical town of the bay, rich with its own stories and legends.
NOTE: This is ONE of TWO options for a luxurious marina stop.
- Porto Montenegro - Porto Montenegro, nestled in the heart of Boka Bay, stands as a magnificent testament to the seamless blend of history and modern luxury. This destination is far more than a typical marina; it is a vibrant symbol of opulence and cultural heritage, making it an essential visit for those exploring the luxurious side of Montenegro.
Visitors to the marina can enjoy a leisurely walk along its docks, admiring the sophisticated architecture and the array of high-end shops. The marina is also home to a variety of dining establishments, offering everything from light snacks to gourmet meals, all with stunning views of lavish yachts and the tranquil sea.
For those interested in the historical aspects, the marina hosts a maritime museum and provides access to a meticulously preserved Yugoslavian submarine. These attractions underscore the rich narrative of the area, bridging its historical significance with its contemporary allure.

- Stradioti - Stradioti Island is a true little hidden paradise inside the Bay of Boka. One of only three islands in whole of Montenegro, it offers total isolation from the big crowds. This gives you a singular chance to escape crowded places with loud music.
The scent of the cypresses made the island an ideal place for tourism. Between 1962 and 1991, it was home to the Club Méditerranée “San Marco”. The resort offered 300 exotic Polynesian-style reed huts, some of which can still be seen on the island.
Today the island is deserted. But if you are looking for dense forests and a hidden beach, you will find it here.
NOTE: This is ONE out of TWO options for a beach stop.
- Restoran Movida - If we are talking about under the radar beaches in the Bay of Boka, then we have to mention Movida beach bar. It is cushioned in a small bay, close to the natural preserve called “Solila”. Because of its position, strong winds are a rarity in this area.
The pebbly beach is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas but if you choose so, you can put down your own towel. During the season, the bar often features live DJ performances, which gives you a proper beach groove. They have changing cabins, toilets and a restaurant in case you would like to get a meal. While many locals like to come and enjoy the sunny beach, it is located far from busy roads or maritime channels, giving you an opportunity to immerse yourself in your vacation.
NOTE: This is ONE out of TWO options for a beach stop.
