A small glimpse but worthwhile trip to Montenegro - Andrew did an amazing job driving us to Montenegro and back safely and efficiently. He was not only knowledgeable but also hilarious. Doing it in a small group and leaving early is the way to go. We managed to enjoy the scenery without big crowds.

Mostly rained out - This day had much potential but was alas, the only day of our visit when it rained. And it rained! We had 4 umbrellas and forgot them all at the accomodation in Dubrovnik. The only place we explored was by boat - the cathedral that has been built on a rock - where we had 15 minutes to wander at will, although the cathedral doors were closed. It was too wet to even think about climbing in Kotor and elsewhere. Otherwise an interesting trip. If you go to a proper restaurant and order the Fish Platter for Two, better be hungry! Be prepared, smoking is common, and dogs are welcome in restaurants.

Good travel choice! - The trip went very well. Our driver gave us interesting information throughout the day. The group was small and the time we were given to walk and get to know was adequate. We recommend.

Loved it - My husband and I had a brilliant time on this day trip to Kotor, the driver and guide Ivo was so friendly and knowledgeable and we loved hearing all about the Montenegrin history. Our fave stop was Perast which was so peaceful and beautiful! Would definitely recommend 👍🏼

Loved Kotor Montenegro - Early start was good for boat trip to Lady of Rocks church (extra 10Euro charge), which was well worth it. Would have appreciated an extra hour in Kotor and less time in Budva. Drop off point could be nearer main gate in Kotor and was too far in Budva. Ivo, our driver, was very knowledgeable and managed the border crossings well, given that we were travelling end of season and borders can be busy in height of summer. Date of tour was changed last minute, and luckily we still were able adjust our plans. We enjoyed it and would happily travel again.

Was not disappointed - Yes, you can get to Perast, Kotor, and Budva by public bus and visit without a guide, but what you save in money, you'll lose in time and patience and quality of visit. This minivan tour had a total of 8 guests -- perfect size. Don't be daunted by the very early start time -- it allows for fast border crossings into Montenegro (about 5 minutes). By comparison, I did the same border crossing the next day as a passenger on a large coach, and it took close to an hour. It also means that you arrive in Perast before anyone else gets there, so you can enjoy the tranquil beauty of the village. I was able to pay a local boatman €10 to bring me out to the Our Lady of the Rocks islet, where he left me for 20 minutes. I had the place all to myself. (Once the large busloads of tourists get there, it's an awful, crowded throng.) Kotor is worth the 2 hours we spent there. Climb to the top of the fortress for a good workout and great views. Budva was nice enough -- get away from the charm-free commercial waterfront and new hotel construction and walk around the old town and have a bite to eat. Our driver/guide provided all the info during the drive and let us spend our time at each stop by ourselves -- so we weren't walking around as a group.
