Hike down the Old Caravan Path - We went with a guide, Ivana. There was only my wife and I so we had her full attention. We had many questions and she took her time explaining things. We never felt rushed as she is quite young and we are 64 and 74. So I'm sure we slowed her down as she is extremely fit. Would definitely recommend this excursion and hopefully you will have Ivana as your guide.

Hiking downhill is next best thing - I turned for help to this amazing people to help me quickly organize a downhill hiking tour for my group visiting Kotor Bay, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Ivana helped me arrange the tour, and her assistance was amazing. I truly appreciate how quickly and effortlessly she made everything happen. Our guide was passionate about hiking and shared that enthusiasm with all the participants effortlessly. This tour is perfect for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the area from a different perspective without the need to climb uphill. I highly recommend this tour for a unique and enjoyable way to explore Kotor Bay.

An Inspiring Hike - Amazing guide, passionate about hiking and very knowledgeable about the region. I'm usually not into hiking but that hike inspired me for life. On top of that, the guide took amazing pictures of us all, she has a real talent. It was such a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it if you pass by Kotor.

Best day on a 12 day cruise through Mediterranean - Milija was amazing! Our cruise came in late, and he waited at the dock for us and adjusted our itinerary so that we could still do the most important parts. He was very informative about the history and culture of Montenegro, and made our hike up the mountain enjoyable. We stopped to rest on the covered patio at a local house, had snacks, took beautiful pictures, walked through a Roman stronghold, and down the wall. Out of a 12 day cruise from Venice through Greece, my 20 and 17 years olds and I agree, this was our favorite day. I have since recommended Milija to fellow travelers, and hope to go back myself and do other day trips with him.

Well dooable for anybody with a moderate activity level (my kids were 6 and 10 and loved it). Thanks Iva for the once in a lifetime experience!

Fun for us- but not if you are not a fan of hiking - Well, what should have been a 2 hour tour took 5 hours and our poor tour guide was worried about us missing the ship. We are hikers and loved the adventure- but we had two people in our group that had never hiked. If you are an avid hiker then this hike is between an easy and moderate if you were to rate the terrain. There are rocks so wear good hiking shoes- that was another issue for non-hikers is that slick smooth bottom tennis shoes will have you sliding. Wear appropriate gear. The stop for a beer is great and the view is spectacular. And we saw a heard of goats too.

DOABLE and WORTH IT even on a CRUISE SHIP! - Arranged this tour during a stop on a cruise ship. The guided hike requires basic physical fitness but is completely worth it. Our guide Ivana was excellent and personable. In a nutshell, you are met soon after exiting the ship and driven in a car to the top of the mountain. Ivana then leads you first through forest and then down the sunnier parts of the hill, where the first spectacular views happen. After the stop at the local mountain pub for prsut, cheese, and water, you continue down to the fortress and into the town. The hike ends right where you started! CRUISE SHIP LOGISTICS - If you have a 6 hour stop in Montenegro this is a wonderful idea, although be aware that most of your time in port will be needed for this hike. Our guide Ivana was aware of those time limitations and guided us with that in mind. She was also flexible, allowing us to add extra friends at the last minute. Again, a port stop longer than six hours would allow for a celebratory beer in the Old Town. In our case, we hurried back to the ship on probably the third-to-last tender boat, happy and a little sunburned. A wonderful day, thank you Ivana. We will just have to see the Old Town on the next cruise through Montenegro.

Once in a lifetime experience! - Milija is an amazing guide! Experienced, SO knowledgeable about Montenegro's history, entertaining, nice and FUN! He continually adapted to our ever changing port schedule, ensuring we enjoyed our short time in Kotor. Because of our late arrival, we were unable to drive to the top to hike down. Improvising on the spot we decided to hike up to the farm, which is well worth the considerable effort. We hiked up a dirt/rock path used for thousands of years, which was hard, but very cool. Our hostess at the farm was a gracious woman who my 17 year old son affectionately refers to as Grandma. Grandma served us beer, soda, shots!, homemade goat cheese (from her flock, which was wonderful), and a coveted Prosciutto made locally in the bay. We felt so honored that this family opened their home to us and allowed us a glimpse into their world. It was a fabulous experience that I was thrilled to share with my children. After resting under Grandma's covered porch for a bit, Milija took us over to the castle ruins where we were afforded more amazing picturesque views, and eventually down the Roman wall into Kotor. Though only a few hours, we all agree it was the most impactful tour we took in our 2 weeks down the coast from Venice to Greece. I can't recommend this tour enough. I can't recommend Milija enough! Whether you take this tour or another, I guarantee you Milija will make it a trip to remember!

The track was very steep... - The track was very steep and mainly comprised of loose stones which at times were slippery. Our guide was very patient with us and was helpful at all times. His passion for local history was evident. The drive up to the top of the mountain was not for the faint hearted with steep hairpin bends and dozens and dozens of switchbacks. In retrospect it would have been a much easier walk uphill.

Great hike and guide, amazing views - Our tour guide, Ivana, was lovely. She was helpful, informative, provided us with water and energy bars, and clearly knew the route very well. The views were gorgeous, and we had a lovely stop with refreshing drinks and food. The walk was great overall. One thing that would be helpful for people to be aware of is the fact that the terrain is quite steep and slippy, with lots of loose rocks, plus a short vertical ascent by a ladder. People should therefore wear appropriate shoes and be mindful that they will not be able to spend that much time looking at the views, as they will need to concentrate a lot on where they are stepping. Thanks to Ivana for a lovely time.
