Highlights
  • Kotor Old City - Kotor is situated in the most secluded part of Boka Kotorska (The Bay of Kotor). While it dates from the Illyrian period, Kotor developed into an important commercial and artistic center in the Middle Ages. Many empires battled for control over the city throughout the centuries: from being an autonomous city of the Byzantine Empire, free city of medieval Serbia, then under Venetian or Hungarian states, gaining independence and then returned to Venetian control once again, just to be occupied by France and then Austria, until Kotor finally became part of Yugoslavia. Kotor tour begins at the main gate of the Old Town, also known as the Sea Gate (Morska vrata), where you will meet our guide.

Perfect into to Kotor - Great walking tour! It was quite interesting to learn the history of Montenegro and then see the city of Kotor. We were glad it was early in the morning as it was getting quite how. The guide was very knowledgeable, personable, group was small. The pace was great. We could ask question at any time. Loved the tour, highly recommend!

Petra was local and lovely - highly recommend - Petra was our wonderful tour guide. She studied tourism and her professionalism is evident. She is a local from Kotor and shared a lot of the interesting history as well as her own personal and family anecdotes and stories with us. She was kind and gracious and passionate. She made some recommendations for us on our request and they were all bang on. She recommended places we would have never visited. They were all local and wonderful.

Great city, amazing guide! - Peter was an incredible guide! He was very knowledgeable about the sites around Old Town, but his personal stories and observations of the city made it the best.

Uninspiring and bland Walking Tour - To be honest it was a rainy day! That said, the delivery was text book boring and did not meet the standard of similar walking tours in Split and Dubrovnik. Petra needs to inject more local colour into the narrative to make it interesting rather than spouting a long list of historical events and dates which mean very little to most tourists.
