- Petra tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock) - Located on the route from Limassol to Paphos, this is the renowned birthplace of Aphrodite, one of the most scenic spots along the Cypriot coast. According to Greek mythology, this is where the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite, emerged from the sea foam. Homer referred to Aphrodite as Cypris, the goddess of Cyprus, which is why Cyprus is known as the island of love. The modern name, Petra tou Romiou, or “Roman’s Rock,” is linked to another legend: the legendary Byzantine warrior Digenis Akritas, a hero of the Byzantine epic, defended the island from a Saracen raid by hurling rocks from the Troodos Mountains. A large boulder near Aphrodite’s Rock is known as the “Saracen Rock.”
- Baths of Aphrodite - Often referred to as the Grotto of Aphrodite, this oasis is rich with lush vegetation. A small botanical garden has been established here, which visitors can explore along the pathways. The site also features the Fountain of Love. The Baths of Aphrodite is a small natural pool, where fresh water flows over stones from springs. The grotto is adorned with vines, enhancing its beauty. Water seeps from the stones, creating a light mist in the grotto. Dense vegetation completely conceals the grotto from view.
- Latchi Beach - The next destination is the fishing village of Latchi, where the journey continues by boat to the Blue Lagoon. Visitors have free time here to enjoy lunch, stroll, or purchase souvenirs.
- Blue Lagoon - The Blue Lagoon is a sheltered bay encircled by cliffs, a highlight of the Akamas National Park, near Paphos. Akamas is one of the few places in Cyprus where nature remains untouched. The Blue Lagoon is among the most stunning swimming spots in Cyprus, named for its exceptionally clear blue water, which offers a clear view of the underwater world. En route to the Blue Lagoon, travelers can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Akamas coastline, visit the Church of St. George and learn its history, and admire the beautiful natural sea caves. In the lagoon’s azure and clear waters, visitors can swim or snorkel, or relax in the shade on the boat’s deck. During this time, the captain will offer a delightful gift (wine, seasonal fruits, and juice). The trip and swimming in the Blue Lagoon will leave lasting pleasant memories.
