- Aphrodite’s Rock - Petra tou Romiou, also known as the Birthplace of Aphrodite, is a stunning coastal area and a favored tourist spot in Cyprus. According to Greek mythology, this is where the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite, emerged from the sea foam. Homer referred to Aphrodite as Cypris, the goddess of Cyprus, which is why Cyprus is often called the island of love. The modern name of this location, Petra tou Romiou, meaning “Roman’s rock,” is linked to another legend: the legendary Byzantine warrior Digenis Akritas, a hero of the Byzantine epic, defended the island from a Saracen raid by hurling pieces of rock from the Troodos Mountains at them. A large boulder just beyond Aphrodite’s rock is known as the “Saracen Rock.”
- Pano Lefkara - The village of Lefkara is renowned among tourists and is one of the most picturesque ancient Cypriot villages in the foothills. The architectural style of Lefkara has remained unchanged for centuries. The village gained fame due to its craftswomen, who are skilled lace makers. Their unique lace weaving technique is called Lefkaritika. In 1889, a lace school was established in Lefkara, and this ancient lace technique was recognized as part of Cyprus’s heritage. Additionally, the production of silver items, including jewelry, dishes, and icon frames made of solid silver and silver lace, is also well-known.
- Limassol City - The journey will take us to the city of Limassol. In the heart of the Old City, near the Old Port of Limassol, visitors can stroll through the vibrant, narrow streets, enjoy Cypriot coffee, purchase memorable souvenirs, and explore a shop offering natural sea sponge products, olive oil-based cosmetics, and other intriguing items.
- Kourion - Kourion is a significant ancient city-state of Cyprus, now an archaeological park and site. Excavations have uncovered residential buildings from various eras with courtyards and exquisite floor mosaics, as well as Roman baths and religious structures, including a sanctuary of nymphs and a Christian basilica. The most impressive structure of the ancient city is a vast amphitheater, built in the 2nd century BC, designed to accommodate 3,500 spectators. The archaeological park of Kourion provides a breathtaking view of the sea.
