A wonderful dive into the real life people of Hong Kong and their long history and culture - Our guide was excellent . Very knowledgeable and informative. Gave us a real insight to Kowloon and real Chinese culture. Utilized his knowledge of public transport system and knowledge of local markets used by every day residents of Hong Kong . Incredible experience exploring Sham Shui Po with Mel - This is a can't miss tour if you have an opportunity in Hong Kong. While there is amazing food throughout this great city, this tour allows you to experience some delicious and varied food while exploring a section of the city that is somewhat less accessible to many visitors. The variety of foods to try is incredible! Mel was a terrific guide who was thoughtful, knowledgable and engaging. Plus you may see him in the movies from time to time. This is a terrific way to spend 4 hours in Hong Kong. We are already planning on bring our children for another tour with Mel!

Good private food tour. - We had our private tour with Sinclair earlier this month. Sinclair was very friendly and accommodating for our small group of two. He was very proactive in taking photos and explained everything we passed by. Sinclair was also good in making sure we had some food items "to-go" for us to eat back at the hotel as we started getting too full on the tour (haha).

Just Do It! - Excellent food and cultural tour I would highly recommend. Mel was very knowledgeable about the food and history of the area. Having lived previously in HK I learned a lot of new information. The food was good and Mel was great company and easy to get along with. We booked directly with the company and communication with Mel was easy. The light show at the end was a great end to the tour. Thank you for a great experience.

Wonderful Kowloon Food and Culture Tour with Sinclair - Our private 4-hour night food tour with Sinclair was wonderful! He was waiting for us at the meeting place and we started off right away learning about the history and culture of Hong Kong while we walked to sample food. We had steamed rice noodles and fresh soy milk, beef omelet sandwiches and coffee/tea mix, various dim sum, and pastries. It was all very filling and delicious. Besides food tasting, we also visited a temple to learn more about Chinese religion, walked through Pei Ho Street market with live fish and shellfish, saw many open air fresh food and meat stalls, heard about the housing situation, and learned how to take the MTR to then explore the Temple Street Night Market. Sinclair was very knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic about sharing about Hong Kong. He brought us to his personal food favorites and we got to try some things we would have never found or tried on our own. He is an experienced guide, and he kept a good pace, explained well, answered all our questions, did all the ordering of food for us, and even shared personally about himself. He took group pictures during the tour and then airdropped and emailed the pictures at the end. He followed up with an email listing where we went and what we ate and also included information on more things to do in Hong Kong. We would recommend Sinclair and the Kowloon food tour!

Wonderful experience - Alex provided an excellent and comprehensive tour covering not only food but the history and culture of Hong Kong. No one left the tour hungry! We tried traditional and novel foods like stinky tofu. Alex made a great effort to accommodate dietary restrictions as well.

Should have just gone to dinner instead - I just went on the Street Food and Culture tour last week and was disappointed. The food was sort of skimpy until the end when our tour guide ordered so much food, even though we said we weren't really hungry (I suspect he did that intentionally in order to take it home with him). The culture part was not really culture, but more of telling us all of the downside of the city. Since the tour was in a not so great neighborhood in Kowloon, I think that the guide was more focused on the issues in Hong Kong (for instance a LONG talk - with photos - about the homeless people in Hong Kong and how they live in cages). I only had 2 days in Hong Kong and this was NOT titled 'The Dark Side of Hong Kong", Also the guide spent a lot of time walking us though the market, which was really generic stuff. The Wet Market was really disturbing as it had live frogs all piled up in a cage, live fish not in the water but flapping around about to die, and I even saw an eel swimming in a tank, but had two thirds of him already cut off and sold. Gross. Also, the tour guide did not manage the time well, as we finished the dim sum at 8:15pm and still had to go the ladies market, which might have been interesting, but I had had more than enough and begged off. The two restaurants that were Michelin starred were not marked anywhere as Michelin stared and the food from these two vendors was just ok. Later in the evening the guide told us that he thinks the Michelin stars are 'bought' by the owners. Also, the guide kept taking photos of us as a group all throughout, which I thought was totally unnecessary and I really thought it was to make us feel all happy by having tp pose for endless photos. All in all, I was sorry that I had wasted 4 hours and $$ on this tour. Should have done more research.
