It was a fun classroom. - I was anxious because I was not confident in English because I participated alone. There was another person who participated, and English was easy to hear. I enjoyed participating in this event! The hospitality is also great, there are many dishes I wish I had gone hungry. Cooking in the classroom is not difficult. I'm going to try to make it at home next time.

Best Hansik in Seoul - We only had a week in Seoul, just a short holiday to relax and enjoy the sights and the food and we did. Out each morning to visit a Palace or other historical location. We would pick a restaurant for lunch then either do a bit more sight seeing in the afternoon or go back to our hotel, Fraser Place Namdaemun for a visit to their fantastic bathhouse and a rest. Some evenings we would just choose a restaurant in the vicinity of the hotel, other nights we ventured out. We went to the movies in Myeongdong and ate at the street food stalls after, we went to the K-Kick Taekwondo Show at Myungbo Art Hall, Jung-gu and just strolled along the street after until we found a restaurant we fancied and on our last night we went to the Nanta Show also in Myeongdong, so we ate street food again. We managed to do all the things we planned except a cooking class. We tried several times but for one reason or another it didn't work out but then we contacted Jennifer at Hansik Cooking Class. Jennifer was so helpful she arranged for us to attend a class on the day of our departure, it worked out perfectly. We checked out of our hotel but stored our luggage. We were able to go to our class and had time to collect our luggage later (and have a last visit to the bathhouse to freshen up) and get to the airport in plenty of time for our flight. We arrived at Hansik Cooking Class a bit before start time, Jennifer met us at the door, welcomed us in and made us feel comfortable, our other class mates arrived soon after. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the classroom, it was spotless. The classroom was very well set out. Stainless steel benches with everything each of us would need for the class, a dinning table set out in anticipation that we would manage to cook something edible enough for lunch. There were some posters on the walls and a few other decorations that softened the hardness of the stainless steel benches and gave the space a more welcoming feel. Jennifer was fantastic, we all chatted for a few minutes, she put us all at ease. When the class started Jennifer cooked each dish and as well as showing us what to do she talked us through the process. She had everything prepared, the ingredients were portioned out, pans and cooking utensils were laid out ready for use. Jennifer made it so easy for the class to follow her instructions that we couldn't help having success with our efforts. We all made two dishes (Gimbap and Tteokbokki) for the first sitting and enjoyed chatting and getting to know our class mates, Jennifer set the tone and ensured the conversation flowed. Then back to the benches for the second two dishes (Pajeon and Budae Jjigae) and another sitting, Jennifer had prepared the Banchan and a couple of extra dishes to round out our banquet. Oh, and there could have been a bottle of Rice Wine shared but I'm not sure if I am allowed to mention that. Anyway attending Hansik Cooking Class was the highlight of our holiday in Seoul, for us a perfect way to end a perfect holiday.
