A quiet ride into the mangroves and canyon - We were picked up timely from our hotel at 8am. We were then driven for about 45 mins towards the spot where we would board our canoes. The group was capped at 10 pax, for the group that day, it included a young boy of about 6 years old with his parent. Each canoe was given a dry bag to keep our phones and other valuables , which we will then take with us onto the canoe. Each person was also provided with a bottle of mineral water which we can take into the canoe with us. We were given life jackets and given a short briefing on the routes we will take, and about the tide conditions and what to look out for (especially when canoeing against the tide). As i ended up as a single pax, i paid 300bht to have helper canoe with me, in my case, it was the guide himself. The route towards the mangrove was easy because we were riding with the current. Along the way, the guide shared interesting information about the mangrove and how it is now not allowed to cut down the mangrove for black coal anymore etc… One of the canoes capsized because one of the guests had leaned over his canoe to take a photo with his iPhone15. His dry bag (opened) and his iPhones fell into the water, and the water was too murky to see, and the current was too hurried and will bring everything else with it. After helping the couple back onto their canoe, he (and i with him) returned to the spot where the bag was dropped, hoping that the mangrove roots might have caught the dry bag. He was telling me, he must try to find it or else the couple will be sad and will not enjoy the rest of the trip. He took off his life jacket and jumped into the water, he tried at least 3 times to go into the water to search but to no avail. But I have to respect his effort for going out of the way to help find it. Later, he mentioned that he will come back again during low tide to find it. And we continued our way, into the mangroves and then the canyon before going into the open sea and back again….Overall, it was not too tough, only certain spots when u need to canoe against the current is quite hard. Girls might struggle but guys should fine. Canoeing through the mangrove was something my family wanted to do and we were happy with this tour. They took good care of us. We were back by around 11-ish am and were served water melon to end the trip. And they took us back to our hotel by the same van. As you may be under direct sunlight without any shade for some parts of the journey, do remember to sun protection (eg caps, sunblock, long sleeve, long pants etc…) If you do not have enough time in Krabi, you might want to consider this activity as it takes up only half a day. A couple had also booked an island hopping tour with the same operator (i did not know this earlier) - and they were given a private long tail boat just for the 2 of them. you can enquire with them if you are keen to do the same.

Good Kayaking - A good experience and nice activity to do in Krabi. The staff were very friendly. Even if you don’t have kayaking skills or swimming experience, can still go for it.

Enjoyable day on water - Communication was good prior to the day and our hotel pick up was on time. Stunningly beautiful location to kayak - amazing caves and canyon to see. Our guide was clear on “how to” kayak with those who had not kayaked before. I would have appreciated 5 mins to adjust life jacket to ensure it fitted well. Our guide took the lead and told his stories but my friend & I and those behind us did not hear much for the 2 hours of kayaking as we were behind the inexperienced group which meant we were a long way from guide. Rest stop was beautiful but no swimming due to the jellyfish. Watermelon was lovely treat at finish. The horrid van ride back to our hotel took an hour, air conditioning did not work.
