Tour guide was amazing - I r seen the mixed reviews here but our experience mid December 2024 was great. Negative was it was advertised for 7am pickup but once booked it turned into 4.45am pickup and long waits. However, our driver Simon was amazing. Really nice guy, tried so hard to make everything go well and went the extra mile for us all. Prepare yourself for long queues and waiting for auschwitz - museum rules not the tour - but Simon made it as good as it possibly could be. I’d recommend this tour

FULL DAY, Rough on old knees, WORTH IT! - Alex (our driver) was prompt and readily adaptable and remained in constant communication with our party during the multiple changes that occurred during our tour due to no fault of his or that of Viator. These sudden changes were due to problems that arrived with the tour sites and traffic accidents that caused delays, but with constant communication between him and the receiving tour guides we did not miss any of our scheduled tours. His English is good and easy to understand but , you should also understand it is his 3rd or even potentially his 4th language, so don't expect "perfect" English, and if you do, perhaps you should remind YOURSELF that YOU are in POLAND and don't know Polish and he DOES(Polish is not his 1st language). I know because my girlfriend has never lived anywhere BUT Poland and she said he was very fluent! Very kind, attentive and eager to please. Was our mutli-tour day without issues? No, it was not, but none of that was his fault and he was in constant communication to insure his customers would not miss our scheduled trips. Very satisfied with the service Alex provided me and my fiance. I would definitely hire him again. I do not recall the names of our 2 tour guides, but they were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. They lady at Auschwitz & Birkenau was easy to understand knew how to pass delicate information in an appropriate manner while still delivering the FULL WEIGHT of the seriousness of the matter. Nothing less than BRILLIANT! (should be noted that I have been on this tour twice.) Wish I could remember her name. She deserves recognition, but her delivery of such information flooded my brain and as appropriate, she made the sights and the importance of the information paramount above herself. Impressive young lady. The salt mine was also my 2nd time. Wile still reeling from the heart wrenching, mind boggling previous tour. The salt mine is a good way to try and level your brain & emotions. Again, I didn't remember the lovely lady's name, but she was a joy! Uber smart answered even the oddest of questions about the mine. Had great "Dad jokes", worked to keep use together, once without hesitation, had to admonish a wayward guest that thought it ok to wander ahead on his own. She wasn't shy and didn't hesitate to call him out. Turned out to be a "cultural" misunderstanding and that individual spend the rest of the tour happily attached to hip. Was just a misunderstanding of what he thought he could do. He stayed by her side and was eager with many questions that she happily answered. Excellent trips!!

A very worthwhile but emotional long day - The tour worked out really well, in the end. When we booked we were told that we would be collected from our hotel at 7am, an early start but as we were trying to do both in one day we were happy enough. we were contacted the day prior to the trip to ask the names of the group, at that stage I asked what time we would be collected at, this was around 12am By 20:00 we still hadn't a reply so I messaged again. 5 minutes later I received a message to say that we were going to be collected at 04:40! The driver Alex was brilliant, really punctual and helpful the entire day. Despite getting caught in traffic he still managed to get us to the Salt Mines in time for our Tour. It is a very long day, physically and emotionally but it would have been good to know the early start time prior to booking, certainly while we were standing outside the entrance to Auschwitz in sub zero temperatures for over an hour at 06:30 it would have been good to know. Our Guide Alex was very good at keeping us updated and whilst it was an early start it was a very long day and I am not sure we could have managed both tours in one day without starting so early.

Avoid booking through this company! - Myself and my partner came to Krakow for a few days and have just returned back from our day trip. We booked a joint trip to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines with hotel pick up through Gr8 Way. Granted, we did leave it until last minute to book however the customer service we received was so poor for what we paid, over £200!! We had originally booked for a 7am pick up from our hotel, however received a message the day before saying we would need to be collected at 5:15am due to “large queueing wait time for tickets up to 2 hours” and from reading the previous reviews we were worried we wouldn’t be collected at all. We messaged back a few times and were ignored by the company and had to contact Get your Guide directly for help. Our driver was outside our hotel for 5:15am which was fine, we arrived at Auschwitz at about 6:45 and queued for around an hour before we got our tickets (which were not already booked through here we still had to queue). Our driver did not seem like he could not Be bothered nor wanted to be there and disappeared without explaining what the process was. When we got our tickets we had to wait for 11:30am guided tour as all the early slots had sold out so our driver took us to Birkenau first (left us and said to our group of 8 (vaguely and quietly) he would be back at around 9:50am however this was not clear) and got very angry and irate with one couple for not coming back bang on 9:50 even though they explained they were waiting at a different exit for him. Our tour around Auschwitz was informative and the tour guide was brilliant however the customer service from Gr8 Way and our driver let this day down massively with a poor attitude. We went to the Salt Mines for 3pm and arrived back at our hotel about 7pm. Would definitely advise to do Auschwitz and Salt Mines over 2 days as we left at 5:15am and didn’t arrive back until 7pm and it was a long day. Be careful booking through this company as they will likely change your pick up time to 5am! Luckily we all got on well in our group and made the best of the day. Driver just seemed like he couldn’t care less! Definitely not “super saver”’as described!

Crazy morning! Poorly organised. Tour of Aushwitz & Salt Mines were great - Booked this trip for Friday with a 7am start to be told Thursday afternoon after 4pm when it was too late to organise another company that the pickup was 5:15am. We had no choice but just to go with the flow on this. We reached Auschwitz at 6:30am, we were informed by the driver that we had to queue for our tickets in the general admission center (which we had already paid upfront for) After queuing all morning we finally got our tickets around 8am (Thankfully it didn't rain). The driver gave the 8 people on the mini bus money to pay for our own tickets again!! We then got a tour scheduled but not until 10:30am. Very crazy morning as we waited 4 hours from when we landed at aushwitz before getting the tour. After aushwitz tour we then got picked up from the pickup point and brought to Salt mine. Bus driver sent on tickets to the English tour and all went fine. The morning really affected the mood for a few hours after paying 130 Euro for this tour and to only waste 4 hours of the morning queuing and waiting for the 10:30am tour. There is no mention of queuing for the general sale of tickets from reading the itenary of the day. It looks like its all sorted by the Tour Company. We done everything on the itenary but it's the minor detail in between that wasn't detailed to us. Be aware what your paying for with this tour group. What your mostly paying for is a TAXI SERVICE to aushwitz and salt mines with a pick up and drop off at hotel. If I was to do this tour again, I would try and organise this yourself through the Aushwitz main website and maybe look into a bus/train service or book a separate taxi. You might get it alot cheaper then what I paid. Bus driver was nice but there's only so much he can do.(Maybe he's the owner but acts like he doesn't know anything 😋) The tour is great but the company hasn't really organised much but only the taxi service. it's the way it's laid out itenary that gives you the impression that it's all sorted by the Tour Company. I'll only give it 2 stars since the taxi service was okay.

Worst experience ever!!! - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This company will miss sell you everything, it is NOT a private tour as explained, it is NOT private transfers, they WILL make you stand in a queue in minus temperatures for 3.5 hours as this is NOT a prebook service. They are not allowed to buy group tickets, you will be handed money to pay for the the tickets on the door, if you make it that far, there NO guarantee of entry as explained when your in the queue at which point there is no return. They change your pick up time to 5am 10hours beforehand meaning you can’t book with anyone else and leave you standing in the queue alone whilst the driver sits in his nice warm car. Tour is with 50+ other people and is cheaper on the website for you to book yourself. The driver will just disrespect you the entire time and will just ignore you as well, you will SHARE the transfer with other people and depending on the location of where you are staying, will determine how early he will be picking you up, it could be even earlier than 5am. DO NOT FALL FOR THE CLEVER WORDING OF THIS COMPANY!!!

Awful experience - Organised the tour, with pick up at 7am - wasn’t able to be collected from our hotel so had to select nearest pick up point a 10 mins walk away. Had a text the day before saying they would now need to collect us at 5.20 am, so after a delayed flight we set our alarms after two hours of sleep to walk to the meeting point at 5.20 am. Baring in mind we are two young girls who had to walk through an area of a country we don’t know in the pitch black and snow. We were at the meeting point at 5.15 and waited… waited…. And nobody showed up, waited until 5.30 am before trying to contact somebody which was useless as nobody answerd the phone or messages. We stood outside in the dark and in the snow waiting for 45 minutes and in the end had to walk back to hotel as we didn’t feel safe standing on the street. After getting back to the hotel and laying down as we were exhausted we received a text saying ‘will you be ready in 10 minutes’ - luckily we were. As we were then late to be collected we spent the majority of the day queuing. I have tried complaining to the company but have had no response. Would not recommend to anyone. Only positive is the driver we ended up having was lovely.

Good trip but 1.5 hours late on pick up!! - Booked for a 9am pick up Was called the evening before to say it must be 5.10am pick up We accepted this and set our alarm for 4am 630am still awaiting pick up and no answer to emails or wats app msges and calls. Eventually collected still awaiting a reply to what the issue was ?? No apology, no contact at all I absolutely won’t recommend this Viator again nor will I use as it states 24/7 contact and that’s not true

Horrible experience! Avoid Viator tours! - Standing outside in sub-zero weather, wondering whether we would have access to the site or be abandoned by our driver
