We present a singular chance to discover the Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz - Birkenau in a single day. This might be the ideal choice for those making a brief weekend trip to Krakow.
Noteworthy information:
- The Auschwitz museum permits bags and backpacks of a maximum size of 30x20x10 cm only. For security reasons, all entrants to the Museum premises would undergo safety inspections, which include electronic scans for hazardous articles and objects. Entry would be denied to individuals not consenting to these checks
- To get to the first tier of the mine (64 metres below ground), it would be necessary to descend a wooden stairway comprising of 378 stairs. Following the tour, visitors would be transported back to the surface using an elevator.
- Please note, large bags cannot be brought inside the museum. Maximum bag size permitted 30x20x10 cm.
- ID/ passport is necessary on the day for that tour
- For safety reasons, each person entering the grounds of the Museum will be subject to security checks
- To reach the first level of the Salt Mine (64 metres underground), you have to descend a wooden stairway which has 378 stairs. After the tour, you will be taken up to the surface with a lift.

Overall lovely trip - Pick up was prompt and bus was clean and driver was hospitable.
Guild for Aushwitz - Birkenau, was WONDERFUL, she was extremely respectful to the memory of those who have perished, very knowledgeable about the subject matter. She definitely knew her stuff.
The guild at the Wielicka Salt Mine was less so. I felt rushed at every turn, she skipped exhibits and overall I didn't get the vibe she wanted to be there. She hardly gave us any ti.e in the biggest chapel and to reiterate she skipped over exhibits.

Great day trip outside of Krakow! - Excellent day trip, our guide at Auschwitz- Birkenau was very knowledgeable, clearly knew his topic and the history. It is a difficult tour from a content standpoint, definitely not a place to bring young children. The headphones they provided for the Auschwitz part of the tour were very useful, guide only has to speak softly and everyone can hear. Guide at Wieliczka Salt Mine also very knowledgeable and made it interesting. The salt mine is truly amazing, a must see.Tour operator gave me the option to arrange for lunch which was very convenient. The 2 venues in 1 day makes for for a very long day, there's a lot of standing around and walking, at both Auschwitz- Birkenau and at the salt mine. You will be tired at the end of the day but it avoids 2 separate trips, so you can enjoy a full day enjoying and relaxing in Krakow.

Salt Mine Tour - Terrific tour of both. Great tour guides, really informational and knowledgeable.
Special shout out to Dominik, our guide in the Salt Mine who was absolutely brilliant. Also, the driver of our bus (Michael) was amazing.

Informative but a little rushed - Interesting day. Very long! Driver Dawid was brilliant! Trip round Auschwitz was very informative but felt rushed. Just walked through without chance to stop and really look. The guide was very knowledgeable. Salt mines were amazing, better pace and Justine the guide was brilliant! Think it would have been better over 2 days.

Excellent value - Great experience, comfortable transport, friendly driver. However at the salt mine, we should have been informed that we would exit at a different site, and needed to make our way back to the entrance to the mine.

Breath taking - I went straihgt to the Heath when we learnd that we where wolking om the ases of the millions dead.
The only thing we needed was information on where to go first and last.
Whe drove for an auor to get back to the last place to visit

Auschwitz and Salt Mines - Don’t want to say too much about Auschwitz. If you are in Krakow you have to go. Tour picks you up at hotel and drops you back. The salt mines are wonderful and a must visit. They are not too crowded due to Covid so now is a must. And a got a little souvenir found on floor. Tour company very good. Would recommend.

You get what you pay for which is not much - A bit rushed. Only about 15 seconds in the gas chamber. Driver never said 2 words the whole trip and drop off was 15 minutes walk from my hotel and I was freezing and soaked through from the rain by the time I got home.
