History comes to life - This was great trip. An early start but a great trip. Be prepared to see some heavy things at Auschwitz. I knew what this awful place was learning about it since I was young. However, seeing it in person it made all the history come to life! Our tour guide was amazing! She did an amazing job explaining everything to us. The salt mines were the perfect way to end the day. We arrived at the salt mines, had time to eat lunch and walk around before our tour started. It was a hot day so the 59 degree temps in the mine were welcome! The salt mines are massive! Our guide was friendly and interactive. He learned people names and where they were from. By the end of the trip we all felt like friends! The history of the mines along with massive rooms that have been constructed are truly a must see! If you are looking to cover a lot of ground in one day this tour is for you!

Excellent day out with a knowledgeable and informative guide - We booked the trip to Auschwitz and the salt mine through the Get Your Guide app and the process was painless. Do make sure that you put the correct details exactly as your passport, though, as Auschwitz checks them. Communication was excellent, and we were advised in good time where to meet the coach. We had two coaches turn up - one for Auschwitz only, one for both, but they make sure you get the right one! Martin our tour guide was excellent. His English was clear and we were given full descriptions at each place we stopped. Auschwitz is not somewhere that you would say that you enjoyed going, but it is well worth it and Martin was informative and engaging. The salt mines are something totally different, but worth the visit too. There is quite a long descent by steps at the start but once down there the time never dragged and I was almost disappointed to be back on the surface. All in all an excellent day out (just be prepared for a very early start!) and very many thanks again to Martin, our guide, for making it so easy.

Fantastic communication and experience - I booked Auschwitz and the Salt Mines together on Get Your Guide app. The communication was fantastic from our tour guide Maciej who messaged the day before with details and Sylwester who picked us up and dropped us back to the hotel. Sylwester was so friendly and helpful, especially getting my mum in and out of his car we arranged for him to take us to Schindlers factory the next day. I would recommend using him as your taxi driver whilst you’re in Poland. We really enjoyed the camps due to Maciej wealth of knowledge and passion regarding the history and suffering there. The packed lunch is a good idea to add on and there’s plenty of opportunities for breaks. You are well looked after, it’s worth booking through this company.

The definition of a tourist trap - The definition of a TOURIST TRAP. Having booked a tour of the Salt Mine and Auschwitz-Birkenau 2 months ago, we were told that our start time would changed from 8am to 6:40am 2 days before the trip. Whilst not pleased we had no choice but to continue. We arrived at the Salt mine at 7:30 and had the first tour of the day- it was OK but most of the mine was dedicated to snack bars, restaurants and events halls. The tour company then made us wait at the salt mine for 2 hours before beginning the journey to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Why?:People were buying tickets from the ticket office without waiting. We contacted the tour guide but he just referred us to the company email- he claimed he didn’t know how long each tour would take which is not true.( see photo of WhatsApp messages). The plan seems to be to trap you in a remote location with rip off cafes and shops in the hope that you get so bored that you buy junk. So what better thing to do with 2 hours than to write an honest review of an awful place. Get your guide don’t seem to know anything about what they are selling including how long tours take. Krakow is a great city so do not let these people ruin your time in this city.
