Highlights
• Krakow’s Rynek Glowny Central Square - This is the place of the most “mosts”: the most important public space in Kraków, the most expansive Market Square of medieval Europe, it gathers everything most characteristic of the city and has its most distinctive hallmarks, and last but not least: the most beautiful, the most important, the most charming, the most…
• Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) - One of the symbols of city, a pearl of renaissance architecture, Krakow’s oldest “commercial centre”: Sukiennice or the Cloth Hall is one of the most important elements of the architectural heritage of Kraków.
• Museum of Krakow Town Hall Tower - 70 metres (230 ft), 110 stone steps, the executioner’s dungeons, and 700 years on the Main Market Square: this is the Town Hall Tower, the only remnant of the original seat of the city authorities.
• St Mary’s Basilica - A history spanning over eight centuries, a high altar by Veit Stoss (Wit Stwosz), a bugle call, the star strewn murals by Jan Matejko covering the vaulting: all this in a single church! Moreover: in the very centre of Kraków!
• Slowacki Theatre - One of the most famous and most recognised Polish stages, it has operated continuously since 1893. The building of the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre is counted among the most precious examples of theatre architecture in Europe.
• Barbican, Museum of Krakow - The pearl of Krakow’s fortifications, the Barbican is one of the most exquisite examples of medieval military architecture in Europe. Never captured during a siege, it passed into legend when its defenders repulsed the attacking enemy forces with – believe it or not –a single shot!
• Kazmierz The Former Jewish District - Once independent, the city situated south of Wawel was the hub of Jewish life in Kraków for centuries, and today it is one of the greatest tourist attractions of the city.
• Tempel Synagogue - The Tempel Synagogue is worth a visit for at least two reasons. Firstly, the stained glass windows, which are among the best preserved of their kind in Poland. The other is its “non-orthodox character”.
• Muzeum Krakowa - Stara Synagoga - Standing on Szeroka Street Street, known not only as the stage of the final concert of the Jewish Culture Festival but also as the centuries-old centre of Jewish life in Kazimierz, is one of the oldest synagogues in Poland preserved in such a good condition.
• Szeroka Street - Szeroka Street is the heart of Jewish Kazimierz. Let a testimony to its significance be the fact that four synagogues used to stand on the street, which was unheard of anywhere else in Europe.
• Remuh Synagogue (Synagoga Remuh) - The smallest of the seven synagogues of Krakow, it has long contrasted with the others due to its decidedly more modest decor. After the renovation completed in April 2016, it became the main site of prayer for the members of the Jewish community in Krakow.
• The Ghetto Heroes Square - Situated in the Podgórze district, which in 1941 was turned into the Krakow Ghetto, the former Plac Zgody [Concord Square] was designated ‘Umschlagplatz’ under the Nazi occupation, the place where the Jews had to congregate to be deported.
• Eagle Pharmacy - Museum of Krakow - Tadeusz Pankiewicz could not possibly have foreseen while taking over his father’s pharmacy that he would make history together with the enterprise.
• Muzeum Krakowa, oddzial Fabryka Emalia Oskara Schindlera - Where the tumultuous history of a world war meets everyday life, and private lives – a tragedy that affected the whole world.

The concept with travel by golf cart... -
The concept with travel by golf cart through the wonderful town of Krakow with excellent information provided by the audio would have deserved a 5 if not for our driver not guide who pulled the rating down. Perhaps it was the rain but from the beginning of our tour on 23 September, our driver seemed in a hurry. He did motion to what was being described but did not remain at the site while the audio was describing it. We tried to ask that he stay so we could listen and see but language barriers prevented that. As we saw all similar tours stopping and letting people take pictures about half way through the tour, we were able to communicate stop, photo and then he stopped, opened the plastic door so we could get out and take a picture. He never volunteered to stop for us to take a photo, but was very helpful when we asked. Perhaps with more experience, he will be as good as some of the other driver/guides reviewed. Also, my recommendation would be to provide a list or map of the stops to the clients. We had hoped to have a feel for the layout of the city at the end of the tour but because of the many turns and circling back by the same sites, we did not have that nor were we sure what all we had seen. While we were disappointed with our driver, still enjoyed our experience. We chose not to name him in this public post.

Only way to get around narrow... -
Only way to get around narrow streets in city centre without walking - hence why chose over usual sightseeing bus tour. With teenager in tow and limited time was able to tick off sights with just enough commentary driver was personable and we spoke a lot about respective countries. Able to give my own time for collection and requested drop off at Schindlers factory with our suitcases as going straight to airport from there. So despite being quite expensive for just 2, provided a good taxi service also.
