A visit to Wawel Royal Castle offers a glimpse into the historically significant lives of its past rulers. You’ll embark on an exploration that unveils the castle’s mysteries, transporting you to the Poland Kingdom’s ‘golden era’. The tour concludes with a traditional Polish meal, consisting of soup followed by a main course. Your journey then continues to Wieliczka. Wieliczka, just 10 km from Krakow, is home to one of Europe’s largest historic salt mines, operating for over 700 years and reaching depths of 340 metres. Its labyrinthine network of corridors and tunnels extends over 245 kilometres. The 3 km long tourist trail takes you through over 20 chambers, amongst them the extraordinary St. Kinga’s Church - the patron saint of miners. This subterranean church is adorned with salt-hewn chandeliers, carvings and saints’ statues. The mine possesses a unique, healing microclimate and also houses a sanatorium 135 m below the surface.
