Wieliczka, a quaint town 10 km away from Krakow, is home to one of the biggest ancient salt mines in Europe that dates back 700 years. The mine plunges up to 340 metres deep, with a combined length of corridors and tunnels stretching beyond 245 kilometres. The visitor’s path is over 3 km long, featuring over 20 chambers, among them the largest and extraordinary St. Kinga’s Church - the guardian of miners. This subterranean church boasts stunning salt-made chandeliers, carvings, and saint statues. A unique health-boosting microclimate prevails within the mine, and a health resort is available at a depth of 135 m.
